Blastspace Records, in conjunction with The Sunday World, are offering all you music hopefuls in the island of Ireland the chance of a lifetime. We are hosting 8 competitive live music events over the summer across Ireland, North, south east and west. 8 bands from each of the regions will be picked to compete at these events. The best act from each event will go forward to play it out at the ‘LA or Bust’ Finals on 13th September in Dublin.The winner of this nationwide competition will get an all expenses paid trip* to Los Angeles to play a showcase event for a very select audience. We have gathered some top A&R talent scouts from major and independent labels to review your performance and offer you advice, feedback and maybe even a record or publishing deal! These professionals will hold ‘mentor’ sessions with you before and after the showcase, giving you the best possible ‘heads up’ on the music industry and how to break it.The Finals in Dublin will be filmed, and we will provide the winning act with the live recordings. We can also get the winning track posted on iTunes – giving the winning band maximum exposure. Enter: In order to enter the competition you firstly need to collect 25 Sunday World mastheads (that’s the Sunday World title and logo on the front page) and submit it to Blastbeat Head Office along with the entry form. You also need to register your band profile on www.blastspace.com Once you’ve registered, you’ll need to add www.blastspace.com/LAorBust as a friend - so we know that you’ve entered the competition! You must then upload at least one track recording and a good selection of band photographs, and fill in the information about your band.All the tracks submitted will be reviewed by our panel of judges who will then select eight best bands to play live at each of the competition gigs.Gigs will take place nationwide beginning on the 21st of June.
