Jerry Abrams has been around the Texas music scene longer than his youthful looks would make you believe.  A classical guitarist by training, he’s found his niche playing bass – upright and downright.  Jerry has lent his artistry to countless up and coming bands in country music, playing western swing, Americana, top 40, jump blues and bluegrass. Â
This versatile performer was born in Louisville, Kentucky – the Bluegrass State.  He moved to Texas with his family when he was 14 and by the time he turned 16, he was playing clubs and dances around the Fort Worth area.  It wasn’t long before he began recording CD’s, doing studio sessions and traveling the country on tours.  To date, he has been on tours throughout Canada and Europe as well.  Jerry has also done commercials, radio and TV specials, a few international PBS specials and a motion picture soundtrack (Paradise Texas, released in 2007). Â
Jerry is well respected in the Texas musical community and there’s not a touring band around without at least one musician who has performed with him.  His charm and positive, easy-going stage presence have earned him the nickname “ Smilin ’ Jerry†by many performers and on numerous album acknowledgements.
Jerry has had the pleasure of performing with such greats as Doug Sahm , David Ball, Jim Lauderdale, Johnny Bush, Augie Meyers, Leon Rausch and many more.  He is currently recording and touring with Tommy Alverson, and Texas music fans may remember him performing with other popular Texas artists such as Ed Burleson, Houston Marchman and James Hinkle – just to name a few.
