Big Silver

About Me

Big Silver’s fourth record, the second on the Max Recordings label, is titled 'Tributary' and is scheduled to be released winter 07-08...er, someday. Fans will recognize it as a return to the group’s early organic and spontaneous sound. To record 'Tributary,' Big Silver holed-up for 72 hours in the rural central-Arkansas studio of an old friend. They immersed themselves in the music, they recorded completely live, and they finished 12 songs that feature as much fellowship as musicianship.

I Couldn’t Have Said It Better

An Existential Cold Front

A couple of days ago, I was enjoying a peach (from Alabama) and got to thinking why I was compelled to eat an imported Elberta instead of one that was locally grown. The Easter freeze. Yesterday it ...

On Cheerios

If I retire comfortably or become wealthy, I'm going to start buying name-brand cereal. It's a luxury that ranks with a yacht and swarthy palm-frond wavers. Nothing says, "I appreciate the finer thing...

Crap From Last Year. At Least It's Something.

My blogging has gotten sporadic at best. My apologies. I haven't been 'moved' to write in quite some time. Maybe it's too hot. I 've got a couple of what I think are real good political pieces in me, ...

As Snakes to Indiana Jones...

Thus, are tension springs to me. I hate them. When something I own breaks, if it has a spring in/on it, eight-out-of-ten times that's where the problem will lie. And it will break at 2:45 pm in mid-...

Cred-diddly-edit Where It's Due

Ned Flanders is one of the most underrated straight men/foils in comedy.  62 1/2 days. ***** Even if it's just for a moment or two, at some point this weekend stop and think about those servi...

I'm not sure who it is, perhaps Hal Blaine or one of the Motown guys, but check out the drum track on "Tell Him" by The Exciters. That guy's all business. *****I try to support my Homies over at Dia...
