The BRISTLES

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator
SUMMERTIME in backwoods New Jersey circa 1991, while most people were out working their dead end jobs and kissing boss’ ass to make ends meet, or unlike most “normal” kids who were going to theme parks and toxic waste beaches, there stood four disenfranchised, pissed off and bored teenagers, Aaron (vocals), Andy (guitar), Sean (bass) and Mike (drums). With nothing better to do besides partying on dead end streets, local vandalism, and minimum wage enslavement, they decide to form a punk band. Not because they thought they could actually play but to destroy a local club- just because it was there. Frustration fueled by cheap instruments and teen angst spawned The Bristles.
OUR 4 young zeros actually achieved something for the first time in their lives.. they did destroy that club and at the same time realized that could play their instruments and be a viable force writing and playing songs for other “like minded individuals”.
MIKE was the first to leave but Russ (Sparky Krash) was there to pick up the slack on drums, and soon after they went into the studio to record such songs as “Too Fucked up, Too Screw Up, “Kill the President”, “I Hate Society”, and “Bomb Tonight”. They wore their deep contempt for the world on their sleeves as a badge of honor.
WITH Beer City records now backing them and the addition of Greazy Tony on 2nd guitar they were in position to either conquer the world or destroy themselves. This viotile concoction produced perhaps what could be considered their finest E.P. “Generation Annihilation”, a furious blast of social statements and punk attitude that garnered them much respect from the anti-establishment community.
MOST of their shows probably would be considered “disasters” by those who were listening to top 40 bands at the time, or scenesters who showed up dressed to impress but The Bristles would have non of that. They unleashed their fury in a chaotic and disheveled manner with a “Who gives a fuck attitude”. Some shows after traveling hundreds of miles only lasting one or two songs. They played for themselves. Fuck the rest, their motto being "If you want to see a "Show" come watch us live, If you want to hear our music, buy our records".
New 4-way split on Motherbox Records with The Twenty Two's, Broken Heroes and one more band soon to be announced, coming in the beginning of 2009!!
