About Me

Early Piscean entrance in the winter of 1977. Childhood spent flitting between Manchester, the Fylde coast and North Wales. Hobbies include collecting A to Z atlases and lobster ephemera, stationary accumulation and playing Escape From Colditz.
Formed first band in 1988, a fusion of jazz and rap still ahead of its time. Discovered the Pet Shop Boys and Jethro Tull in 1990 and formed the Mancunian cult band Suburban Vegetable. Two albums later Syd's Floyd, The Fall and Blur were discovered and the band went electric. By the time of the fifth and final LP the band were a curious mixture of Sonic Youth and John Shuttleworth. The group disbanded in 1993 after a disasterous festival appearance.
Retired from the music business until a friendly rivalry with genius then-housemate Adam Leonard re-ignited musical fervour in 1998. Inspired to write "breakthrough" single "(I) Feel Like A Ghostbuster" in a lift in Bloomsbury in 2001. Since then he has released three LPs of lo-fi pop, white noise and acoustic dabbling and has contributed tracks to Roy Harper, Robyn Hitchcock and Beatles tribute LPs.
Gareth is currently occasionally gigging around English folk clubs with Fred Loader. He is also recording music as part of Invaderband! and is writing and recording an LP with longterm chum and spiritual administrator, the aforementioned Adam Leonard .
