Sacred Scars

In the book of John, after Jesus had raised from the dead, he appeared to his disciples in the upper room. Thomas, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So Thomas said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the door being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; reach your hand here, and put it into My side; Do not be unbelieving, but believing." And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and My God." Jesus said to him,"Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."In this story, the scars on Jesus' hands were the evidence that convinced Thomas of who He was. The scars are what have given us the victory in this life. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believes on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved." This said, We declare Jesus' scars as sacred, set aside for the purpose of worship and praise, and thank Him for His love for us. We can not do what we do without Him.
