About Me

Eilean - Celtic Music live

My main project is Eilean - Celtic Music. It is always a great joy to play celtic tunes with Eilean, melodies from Ireland, Scotland and Brittany with the instrumentation of celtic harp, guitar, vocals, low/tin whistle, accordion and bodhrán. Love and pain, nature and the four seasons are the main topics of the songs. Eilean's music invites you to dream along and lets you forget the bustling everyday life.

2006 we recorded an album with the band coolmasala, on which some of my self-written texts and melodies were introduced - for example the german song "Der Baum" and the russian song "Мать вечная". But also some of my favorite traditional songs were arranged with oriental percussion and saxophone.
The arrangement of the songs was strongly determined by working together with the sitar player Christian Noçon .
Since 1999 I am a member of the Vocal Ensemble Radost. "Radost" simply means "joy" in many Eastern European languages. The five girls mainly present songs from Bulgaria, White Russia, Russia and Croatia.
My vocal teachers are: Amelia Cuni for Northern Indian Dhrupad and Ate Schell for classical singing.
All the photographs in the slide shows were taken by Dagmar Uhlig and Ralph Großmann (Eilean slide show) and Tonn Kersten (Radost slide show). Beatrix Kersten and Bettina Heinzelmann can be seen on the slide show as additional members of Radost.
