LC 470

About Me

To top last year’s impressive debut of the LC470, the Lucra Cars design team has examined every single part of the car. Over 50 years of racecar building experience and the latest technology of computer design has gone into the 2008 LC470 chassis. Now lighter and stiffer, with a host of new advances, the LC470 boasts incredible performance and drivability from a lightweight sports car.

The LC470’s redesigned chassis, carbon fiber body, aluminum suspension, and 1850 lb weight means little if the car doesn’t stick to the road. To address that, the weight distribution is a perfect 53% rear and 47% front. This balance gives the LC470 forgiving handling characteristics, and incredible traction. Coupled with a low center of gravity, this means the use of anti-roll (or sway bars) is optional (No sway bars needed for street and some racing). Aluminum racing seats and four-point harnesses will keep you strapped in as the LC470 pulls up to1.3 G’s in corners.Utilizing powder coated, seamless 4” drawn-over-mandrel steel tube, the chassis under the LC470 helped it clock a 9-second quarter mile at 149 mph. Obviously, a 9-second car is not for everyone… the base model 350 powered LC470 still does a quarter mile in 11.6 seconds at 129 mph. Every part of the LC470 has been deliberately engineered to maintain a low center of gravity and accurate roll center, for better handling and traction. Our design and engineering team chose the Tremec TKO600 Road Race Gear transmission and ratios carefully selected for the power and weight to maximize traction and performance. With a 3:07 final drive, and base 350hp engine the LC470 catapults from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds in first gear, and has a top speed of over 190 mph should you be bold enough to go there.Integral to the performance of the LC470 is perfection in steering and suspension geometry. All bump steer and scrub were eliminated from the LC470 for a stable platform with no undesirable characteristics at high speeds. Easily adjustable front and rear suspension on the LC470 allow for precise tuning of caster, camber, toe, and ride height.Driver position is optimal in the LC470, regardless of the driver’s height. To provide a custom fit, both the driver’s seat and Tilton 3-pedal assembly (with front/rear brake control) are completely adjustable to bring the controls to the driver. Available space is another unique aspect of the LC470. The cockpit can accommodate taller drivers 6’ 4”+, and the trunk can easily hold two sets of golf clubs and luggage.Elegant custom fabricated, ceramic coated, tuned headers and side pipes are standard on the LC470. The ceramic coating keeps the system cool, and the recess in the body keeps them nicely out of the way. High Pressure Aircraft Grade A/N Stainless steel lines are used throughout the fuel, cooling, and brake systems. All hardware on the LC 470 is F9/11Aircraft Grade (rated to 180,000psi). The hardened alloy steels are far stronger and mean longer wear life for the bolts and the expensive parts they hold.
