Hi, Im Destro, aka Dan Depeiza.I live in Teesside. Not really a big drum and bass scene round here so i decided to create my own.My main musical influences range widely. At school I was an avid musician and played a lot of jazz, swing and big band music. Many thanks to my tutor and musical mentor, Vince Edwards. As i was growing up back in the 90's, radio 1 was also a contributor to my influences, listening to the sounds of Trevor Nelson, Tim Westwood and Gold Finger. As I got older I started listening to alternative sounds such as Mr Scruff, Jazzanova and Etro Anime and found that a certain sound "pricked" my ears. To be quite honest, I think the first sounds that really gave me the DB bug were the last few seconds of a track by the Roots, "You Got Me", with its slick jungle rhythms. My sister, Gemma also contributed, kindly giving me a jungle music CD of which i listened to till it bust.From then on i have strived in producing music in my spare time, attempting all sorts but found my real love is drum and bass. After listening to LTJ Bukem's "Watercolours" i was definitely hooked. The atmospheric, chilled yet up beat sounds got my goose.I then broadend my horizons and started listening to Fabio and Grooverider, Dillinja, Scratch Perverts, Big Bud among many others. These are the foundations of my sound, though there may not be a market, music is all that matters.Hope you enjoy what you hear.Destro
