Bart Connell

About Me

Bart was born in Gadsden, al, and his family later moved to Pell City, Al, where he graduated from Pell City High School. Bart grew up listening to all kinds of music, but listening would not be the last stop. He soon developed a burning desire to sing and write. Several different genres make up what he was then, and what he is today. He continued doing what he loved so much, finally one night after a gig, he realized he was at a crossroads. He simply said to himself “ I’d rather go to Nashville and be told no, than to stay in Pell City and wonder “ packing up everything he owned, he moved to Nashville to pursue his dream.
It took a while, but things finally started to happen.
He made two appearances on the Ernest Tubb Mid-Night Jamboree with Jack Greene, Dianne Sherrill and Ron Williams, which were broadcast live nationwide on AM-650 WSM. He’s been the feature act at the original Nashville Palace, where country greats Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and many others launched their careers. He made an appearance at the James Monroe Bluegrass Music Hall, with Vern Gosden and Dianne Sherrill. He had his first single release nationwide, and has recorded songs written by some of the greatest writers in Nashville. Including, Jerry Foster, Johnny Morris, Dean Dillion, Don Goodman, Buddy Cannon, A. J. Masters, Bobby Fischer and J.B. Detterline Jr.
With influences all the way from George Jones, Hank Williams and Moe Bandy, to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Bart describes his music, as country, mixed with a little rock, and a little blues. As he puts it,“ if I can’t feel it, I can’t sing it.“ that’s the only way he knows how to do it, from the heart, with the emotion of his real life experiences.
