It was the November of 1976 in Fresno CA that lived a group who called themselves the Electronic Boogaloo Lockers. This group was made up of Darnell "Twist-o Don" McDowel, Tick'n Will Green (both the creators of Popping), Boogaloo Sam Solomon, Tidal Wave Skeet, (robot dancers) Slim and Slide. The creations from Twist-o Don and Tick'n Was mixed an already existing Funk Boogaloo would be the thing that would influence the world of urban dance and become known as Popping. They were called The Electric Boogaloos.In 1979,The Royal Flush Dancers were born becoming one of LA's top dancing and pop locking groups. Creating ground breaking moves such as The Ground Wave and The Centipede as well as others. Also known for a clean uniformed look, with Royal Flush letters going down the side of there pants. This group would go on to influence other groups in the area known as Snap Crackle and Pop, The Confederates, as well as many other solo poplockers who were gangbanging or selling drugs. They battle groups from Hollywood and Highland to the Anahiem Convention Center if your a poplocking group from the 80's you know who you are.it's all about the new school now but never forget the roots of the old you can still learn.Much respect to the original Poplockers of Oakland California.
