Synapsicide was formed in 2001 by Lillo (vocals), The King (Drums) and Svarvi (guitar). The aim was to create a mix of American death metal and European grind, combining both technical riffing and blast chaotic assaults with pathology-inspired lyrics.
In early 2002 Svlozzo (bass) joins the band and the live activity begins.
In 2003 the band decides to thicken the sound and Simone (guitar) joins the band. The 5 pieces line-up lasts only a few months since Simone and Synapsicide decide to separate their ways.
Compositions become more and more intricated, with brutal-death-oriented composite structures.
The band coins the term "anatomo-pathological brutal-grind" which summarizes the characteristics of the compositions.
After a period of scarse activity, in 2005 Svlozzo leaves the band, soon followed by founder member Lillo.
Svarvi and The King have to re-create the line-up.
2006 is a crucial year for Synapsicide with the new entries Vomitino (vocals), Stefano (bass) and Zucchina (guitar). The new line-up seem to work well together, so the live activity restarts and the decision to record the debut album is finally taken.
But bad luck is always around the corner: The King injuries his foot and is not able to play drums anymore.
The band starts searching for a new drummer but the rapid improvements of The King's condition convince the other members to wait for him.
In 2007 Stefano quits the band for personal reasons and is replaced by Eddie in early 2008.
In May 2008 founder member The King leaves the band.
After some months spent searching for a new drummer, in September 2008 Massimiliano joins the band thus completing the new line-up.
