DJ Solano (Lex van der Horst) born at 1970 in a city called Utrecht, The Netherlands. When I was a child I had a great fascination for music. I grow up with the music of the 80's, created my own mixes with old fashion cassettes and a simple pick up because the hardware such as turntables and drum computers are too expensive.Through coincidence there was a reconnection in 2007 to mix my own records again. But soon I experiment with create my own music. I buy a PCR-500 keyboard to start try playing little notes. I cannot read notes, but the feeling was there and that was the sign for me to go further. Soon, after several months and experimentation I created my own style of Trance Music. I have listened much to my favorites DJ Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. The goal was don’t copy them but I was searching for some elements they using so I can implement it in my own music.
This result in my first album called Just For Life. I spread my first album over the Internet and several newsgroups. Soon I got plenty of reactions about my music. I got plenty negative reactions, but also reactions with great tips. It was not bad to all but my first album missing something full of sound someone says.
For me was this the point to no return. With full of confidence I started my second album Circle of Life. I came in contact with some DJ’s and ask them to listen to my own music. The reactions now on my second album Circle Of Life still overwhelming me. They steer me to mix my own music. I buy my own CD turntables and mixing console to practice. Soon I discover that mixing music is a different discipline so I decide to follow a DJ course on DJ School Zuid Holland to learn and know the tricks of the trade .In the meanwhile I started also in 2008 a new album called Somewhere. This album brings me where I want to be. I sign up with a contest at BestFest 2008. This was for me the possibility to promote my music. Because I was still a beginner DJ, still I am getting the third place of the eight DJ’s on this contest. Not bad to all I think. But I realize that I must more learning mixing music, but that is a matter of time.
Also in 2008 I started my next album called My Journey, not finished yet, but also the reactions on my demos from the crowd overwhelming me and I’m curious what this album brings to me next. I’m now known this is definitely my new journey because I’m know where I came from and producing and mixing my own music is a dream that came true.
