October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
What is it?
Breast Cancer Awareness Month was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder to:
&hearts increase awareness of breast cancer
&hearts raise funds for research into the disease
&hearts support people affected by the disease.
Today, the major breast cancer and cancer charities all over the world continue to champion the cause every October, employing the pink ribbon – now a global symbol of breast cancer awareness.
The National Cancer Institute estimates that 1 in 8 women in America will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. The flip side of that statistic is that 7 in 8, or 86% of women will never receive such a diagnosis. Even better, survival rates are improving, as early detection and better treatments help us fight breast cancer worldwide.
This month you will see many events for fund-raising and awareness. Join in the race for the cure by visiting The Breast Cancer Site , buying a Pink Ribbon Product, and learning more about risk and prevention of breast cancer.

I'm selfish, impatient, & a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, & at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.
- Marilyn Monroe
I believe reality is a marvelous joke staged for my edification and amusement, and everybody is working very VERY hard to make me happy.=P I'm kidding, no i'm not. hahaha.. Life's been great lately. My life is flawed, and yet oh so perfect. I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances. Like John N. Mitchell said, "Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us."
