About Me
----Larry H. Parker and the 2.1 Million is a dream come true; a dream of two brothers who began honing their musical skills at the same time that their namesake embarked on a now legendary and equally sleazy ad campaign that has entertained countless Southern California daytime television watchers for decades. LHP2.1 smoldered in the tumultuous hearts of Josh and Tim, mentioned only on such occasions as when far too much Mountain Dew and cheese sticks had been ingested at 2 AM at Carrows. Even though they attempted to satiate themselves with other bands such as Jirehfunk'n'junk, Biblioteca, and the ongoing Springtime is Wartime, the burning would not subside. Larry H. must arise!-------------------As with most natural disasters, the dream of Larry H. Parker and the 2.1 Million was actualized without warning. It must have been on a Thursday in the summer of 06 when Dave, their good friend and guitar of Springtime is Wartime called with bad tidings. A sudden death in the family would keep him from making a gig they had scheduled for the coming Saturday. Never ones to cancel a show last minute, Josh and Tim acted quickly. "What can we play without Dave?" In two nights, they wrote a couple original songs, and crafted four bass and drum cover songs. Tim's wife Stacey helped round out the sound with some keyboard and percussion. In the calm, in the eye of the storm, before they set off to perform this potential catastrophe, they assessed their act. Josh and Tim realized at that moment that what they had unintentionally created was not simply Springtime is Wartime without Dave. No, this was something entirely different. This was something crowned under extreme pressure, and born in heat. Yes, this was Larry H. Parker and the 2.1 Million!-------------Songs were sung. Cowbells rang. Vibraslaps slapped and hands clapped. Hips swayed and people sweat. A good time was had, and the general consensus was that Larry H. Parker and the 2.1 Million was a success. And yet, inexplicably, he went dormant for a time. No, not dormant, but seemingly so. However, dreams like this don't die. And now, as if no time had elapsed at all, exploding forth again with even more glorious strains from bass, drums, cowbells, vibraslaps, and Casio keyboard tones, Larry H. Parker is reborn in the heat of 08. Feel it. Feel it. The above is footage from our May 24th, 2008 show at Biko in Isla Vista. It is poor quality, but for now it's the best we can do to go you an idea.
