I may be gullible, but at least i've got this magic fish

About Me

Greetings!
I am Simon =D
More specifically Drunk Simon/Long-haired Simon
Although I do also usually respond to Si, Si-Si, Agent Zimon, Prez (depreciated) or Random Steve.
If you've read this far and haven't guessed, nor looked at any photos, believe it or not but I have long hair *gasp* Tis always fun, keeps me warm in the winter. Cant really say that much else about myself appearance wise. Dont ask why but I can't seem to be able to judge people on how they look, I like people after talking to them and seeing their basic personality without giving a toss about what they look like. Don't ask why as I don't know. Im odd
I go to the University of Hertfordshire (in Hatfield, UK) where I study Computer Science, well some of the time anyway. Just finished Second year at the moment, whoo. Was interesting too and I like to learn so im happy. Have written a basic web server which was fun, hard, yet rewarding, programming stuff (writing programs dun dun dunnn) which I seemed to have grasped fairly fast in the year or so I've been doing it which im happy about.
On holiday at the moment where I plan to do bugger all till I start work - doing a placement year in Luton, should be kinda fun. It will be an experience to say the least. Kinda scary really, going out into the 'big world' but oh well. Will still pop back to Uni and Watford if I get time hopefully.
Am originally from Watford which is nearish the Uni anyway. I spend a fair bit of time using a Computer because im nerdy like that. And am fairly good at using them, one of few things im good at (my cousin has a theory that im good at academic things but crap at almost anything non-academic (social stuff, talking to people etc), I would probably agree with him actually).
Happiness is good. I reckon its a state of mind and controlled by how you perceive things so I normally try to think positive about most things. Therefore am (usually) happy! Hurah!
Seem to be quite good at the always thinking of things in a good light although I have done the opposite before and im really good at that so thats not good. So I try to remain happy.
If im not happy im probably either thinking or tired. Thinking can really mess with my head sometimes which is bad so I try to avoid bad thinking.
I'm normally really shy but once I get going I can talk for ages. I think.
Sometimes.
Maybe.
With people I already know im generally really sociably and (usually) talkative. Although if I meet someone new for the first time I generally am near silent. Don't know why that is really, but the more I see someone the more I talk to them usually.
Music is always fun, I like quite a big range really.
Try to go to gigs but can't always. Gigs are always fun but I usually go wheee and get moved around in the middle of crowds and such. Should probably try to get muscle sometime as I have none, ask anyone, none at all...
Think its because im too lazy to exercise past walking to and from Uni
Groups/labels/stereotypes are generally stupid.
People are people and dont need to be defined and grouped nor define themselves by something. Saying that im partially Geeky/Nerdy & slightly strange n' odd.
I cant really be put onto one box as such, it would have to be a few boxes. And that would be quite messy...
Am kind of random with the whole randomness thing but thats as its how I am. Im not one of the people who are strange or random just to try and fit in... its just me.
Besides, I think full randomness in nearly impossible. 'Random' in computers is generated by some scary maths based upon the current system time or something I think (told you I was nerdy!!) and I think for humans the brain processes things in a similar way, you get a train of thought from one thing which reminds you of something else which in turn you think of something else and it goes on like that until you are satisfied that you have diverse from something to a degree that you can claim it to be random. Hmm, told you I can go on for ages if I get started.
As i've said im generally a little weird, but in a good way! Honest!
Besides, normality is boring and dull. Give me irregularity any day!
Apparently im not to be trusted with sharp objects. So be warned
Duct Tape is generally funky. Things dont brake - they just lack duct tape!
I like shiny things.
And things that glow.
And things that contain some kind of spirit...
(preferably an alcoholic spirit)
So yea, thats about me really

My Interests

Computers & the internet, Music is always fun, Alcohol/drinking, M:TG, D&D, Skittles. I like thinking actually (although it can backfire and mess my head up sometimes bah). Learning is always fun too *emanates geek aura*

I'd like to meet:

Myself when really drunk as I have no idea what im like...

Im guessing it would be.. interesting

Failing that, people who accept me for me. Its who I am all the time and i really don't like changing to fit in anywhere, nor for anyone.

Music:

I have a surprising taste in music now I think about it. Meh. Here, have a random non-ordered list:
SikTh, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Chimaira, Pantera, Meat Loaf, Scarred Orange, Motorhead, Ensiferum, Finntroll, Metallica, Madness, System of a Down, Slipknot, Dragonforce, Sweaty Nipples (I kid you not - random CD I picked up in hungary), Richard Cheese, More The Normal, Zero Consent, Less Than jake, Reel Big Fish, The Offspring, The Haunted, Guns n' Roses, Poison, Motley Crew, Trivium, Skirmish, Stormtroopers of Death, My Dad Joe, Oomph!, Murderdolls, Cryptopsy, Pig Destroyer, Power Quest, Machinea Supremacy, Norther, Freezepop, Kevin Bloody Wilson, Machine Head, Phema, Queen, Rammstein, Twisted Sister, Verbal Deception, Battlelore, Andrew WK, Alice Cooper, Blink 182, Sum 41
A fair range of music, most similar, with lots of branches. Blah, I cant be arsed to over analyse my music tastes so figure it out yourself.

Movies:

The Punisher, Star Wars, Doom was pretty good. South Park Movie is awesome. Seriously, me and my cousin have to watch it like once a month or we die... And it's a musical! Not what you would expect but hey, its still tubular
Monty Python is great. I mainly like comedy/SciFi stuff. Don't go to cinema that often unfortunatly but usualy see things I haven't before at PSiFA which is always good.

Television:

Im sure that if I had a TV at Uni, and license, and arial etc, then I would write something of worth here. In the mean time ill have to stick with Button Moon (which is great) which I have it on DVD mwahaha. And watching episodes of Robot Chicken sometimes if I can find them

Books:

I don't read that often unfortunatly. In the past I have read The Hobbit which I thought was pretty good. Also read the Satanic Bible once (Mum wasn't too happy) but its fairly alright if you approach it with an open mind and don't take it too seriously. I have started reading Plato but never finished it, long book it is. Also started Moby Dick but didn't get far. At the moment I am finding this Terry Pratchet fellow pretty interesting...
