Duane Michael is not afraid of sharing his personal experiences; his upcoming debut album “Quiet and Bare†finds him in the precarious place of putting his heart on the line. “It's been a four year process, but these songs are definitely worth it,†he says. Four years ago, Duane Michael was an aspiring guitar player in a city with no shortage of ambition; Memphis, TN. After coming down on hard times, he moved back to his childhood home in Florida. There, he would begin his plan to discover his dream: writing songs that people could relate to.
Writing two of his songs in 2005 that will be featured on his new release, Duane has been able to see not only himself grow as a musician, but the songs grow in meaning. “I've found that though the words haven't changed, the meaning of the songs have matured. Some of these songs are like family to me now. They live their lives and I live mine.†Duane continues,†When we meet again, we both have a sense of rediscovery happen. We observe who we are now after the wins and losses of life. It's a beautiful picture that I hope my audience will appreciate.†With beautiful arrangements, compelling story-telling, catchy rhythms, and inspired melodies, Duane Michael is quickly making a name for himself. A name that is ready to stay around for a while.
Duane is currently in the studio recording his debut album “Quiet and Bareâ€. It is planned for an early 2010 release.
