DJ Blaze grew up in Queens, New York. He always had the love for music. At the young age of 14 he got his long awaited wish granted when he was given a set of Technics turntables. Ever since nothing could separate him from his music.DJ Blaze was hesitant of the future that spinning vinyl’s would offer, so he took the more conventional way of attaining a career and attended Berkley College. He reached his senior year but could not shake off his attachment to music. He decided to give DJ’ing as career one more chance and at the age of 21 it took off..DJ Blaze began his career at local lounges and clubs in Astoria, Queens. Then at the age of 22 was given the opportunity of a lifetime. He decided to take on DJ'ing as a full time occupation at Macy’s Herald Square.
As DJ Blaze began to venture into his career at Macy’s he was confident in his mixing skills but did not yet develop a voice. Slowly DJ Blaze began to build up his vocal skills and now projects forcefully and with energy on the microphone.
This led Macy’s to expand their showcases and offer more to sponsors and customers. DJ Blaze began announcing sales and promotions and then was given the grand responsibility to draw crowds. DJ Blaze showcased events for J. Lo., Britney Spears, Nelly, Kimora Lee, and Beyonce just to name a few. He assisted in launching their clothing and perfume lines. He hosted fashion shows and other Macy’s events.
While at Macy's he was also sponsored by numerous New York radio stations. He worked alongside Monkey Boy from 95.5 WPLJ, Judy Lopez from KTU 103.5, Power 105.1 and Z100 to help in advertising concerts and special events. He also advertised for magazines such as Vogue, Maxium, Latina, and Seventeen.Macy's also allowed DJ Blaze to gain much recognition and can be seen featured in various publications such as the Village Voice, Your Cute, Newsday, and The Record which is a North Jersey Magazine.DJ Blaze has also emerged into the nightlife scene of New York City. He plays at numerous lounges and clubs and in May 2005 became the house DJ at Fashion 40 Lounge. This up and coming lounge quickly gained recognition and no doubt is some of that due to DJ Blaze and his talent on the turntables.In February 2003 DJ Blaze launched his own business. He works alongside several DJ’s and together they contract out for private birthday parties, weddings, and other celebratory events.In March 2004 DJ Blaze began to play at Next Up Radio 91.9 WHUT which is a local underground radio station. He plays 20 minute prerecorded segments which air Monday nights.In March 2005 DJ Blaze began running showcases for Shady Clothing Line. Some of which were held at Queens Center Mall. Not only is he sponsored by Shady clothing but also by Madsoul clothing line which is on a rise.Through all of this DJ Blaze finds time to give back to his community. He has had the opportunity to team up with the Board of Education and performs at several Manhattan High School's for different occasions.DJ Blaze is definitely someone to look out for. He has so much potential with his hypnotic sounds. His record selection is diverse and includes old and new school Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Reggae, and Reggaeton. The Latin culture in the entertainment industry is booming and this makes DJ Blaze all the more marketable.DJ Blaze has performed in countries such as Colombia, Dominican Republic and soon he will be performing in New Zealand. To excel in your craft one must have passion, determination, talent and the ability to be modest on a daily basis. DJ Blaze not only posseses those traits but has the uncanny ability to bring out people with his music and personalityHis music resonates among many; he takes pride in being a crowd motivator and aspires to be nothing but the best. He is quickly gaining notoriety and continues to pursue different avenues of opportunity.
