Adrenaline Live! is the first event of the Adrenaline Gateway Program. This long term projects aims to put Pennine Lancashire on the map as THE place for a whole host of adrenaline fuelled activities, from dry skiing to trails biking, from mountain biking to water skiing. It will do this by supporting the development of exciting new facilities and a program of events which will bring visitors to the area and hopefully inspire more people to take up sports and enjoy the countryside.
Already, the project is delivering series of fantastic new mountain bike trails in Lee Quarry, Bacup and the projects long term ambitions include many more bike trails, the complete redevelopment of venues like Ski Rossendale and new facilities for activities such as climbing, BMX, skateboarding, and motorsport.
‘Adrenaline Live!’ is the first of what is hoped will be many events in the years to come. Gary Hood, Chief Executive of Rossendale Leisure Trust said “ Adrenaline Live! is an exciting glimpse of what the future might hold. As it’s our first such event we are keeping it deliberately small scale and have done limited promotion. We need to test our systems and convince funders before we can take it to the next stage. But if successful Adrenaline Live! could become an annual festival of outdoor sport, attracting people from across the country and inspiring local kids get involved in sport”.

Notes: Mountain Bike Trails in Lee Quarry have been funded by Natural England through DEFRA’s Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund , Lancashire County Council’s economic development company Lancashire County Developments Limited and the Lancashire Environmental Fund with support from Rossendale Leisure Trust and Aggregate Industries . The Northwest Regional Development Agency is funding further work to develop the Adrenaline Gateway concept and build the case for further investment. The trails will be in use by the summer and the Adrenaline Gateway Team have already started plan for a second stage of trails in the quarry as well as other routes elsewhere in Pennine Lancashire.
