Gender Benders

About Me

This website is to show how (un)conventional gender relationships and presentations are a universal phenomenon. Rather, stories of people and communities who do not strictly adhere to Western notions of gender where one's genitals mandates one's gender happens in cultures throughout time and the world. Also, they have their own ways of describing and defining their identities which needs to be carefully recognized and respected.

Take a look at the blogs of people who describe the many ways in which they understand their identity formation, as well as how their society does and does not create a livable space for them to exist.

Hopefully with greater awareness and appreciation for differences we can create a society where everyone can coexist peacefully.
