About Me

My name is Sense One from the city of Cranston in the small state of Rhode Island, I grew up listening to all types of music ranging from Classic Rock, Country, Reggae, and my favorite Hip Hop. I always had a love for music and began to create on my own when I was in middle school. I could never play an instrument but found my niche in writing lyrics. After writing rhymes for a while I would evenutally learn how to freestyle where I feel I increased my overall skills of being an MC. I spent years attempting to record songs and freestyling whenever I had to the chance to. At the time my style was having a good time, getting as fucked up as possible, back pack battle rapping. I seemed to rap about the same things over and over and as time went on I ventured off into a more conscious conceptual approach, Over the years I learned to mix both styles and develop into the sounds you hear today. Having trouble with groups and recording studios I never actually put together any serious type of project to distribute. I spent countless hours of recording time making tracks for mixtapes as well as original songs but never felt confident in the quality of music of I was making. I did shows when I could get them and ended up on alot a local venues with other local artists. Hated by some and respected by others my confidence in my music started to dwindle. I questioned quitting rap due to the fact that i was putting in alot more then what I was getting out. In early 2007 I met up with mc Axe Butane and DJ Janks and together we formed "Conscious Insanity". This is where i saw some light at the end of the tunnel because we had a very unique sound and style. We opened up for the likes of Kool Keith, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-one and also i did an Arobatik show as a solo performance. Due to animosity between Axe and myself we all decided to go our seperate ways. I took some time off from the whole music thing and developed drug dependcy issues. Battling drug addiction has been one of the most difficult struggles I have ever had to deal with. During this time I was broke, selling drugs, robbing. stealing, homeless at times and in and out of jail. As if things could not get worse in December of 2007 my mother passed away due a rare heart condition. This is where I hit complete rock bottom and never felt more pain in my entire life. Months after she passed I checked myself into rehab which was I spent 8 months of the last year. Still struggling with drug addiction which is an everyday battle, I now pour my heart and my soul into my music. Touching on new concepts and explaining what i have been going through and the changing of my lifestyle into something I have never experienced. I am currently working my debut album which might take a while to finish but it will be completed hopefully by the end of the year. Also I am teaming up With my good buddy singer/songwriter/guitarist Dan Mills and we are working on a side project with a live band and developing an organic new age sound that no one has ever heard before. So keep a look out in the future for big things on the horizon and if all goes well you will be seeing and hearing alot from Sense One over the next year. STAY TUNED! REST IN PEACE GAIL MARIE MORROCCO. I LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!!!!
