About Me

Premade LayoutsGerald Randall Marion, "Randy", disappeared on February 9, 2008 while out riding an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) in Dinwiddie, Virginia.Randy was hanging out at a buddy's house, with his girlfriend and some other friends, relaxing in the backyard and enjoying the sweet smell of meat slowly cooking on the grill. One-by-one, they took turns hopping on Randy's ATV, blazing a trail through the surrounding woods and back. When it was Randy's turn, friends say he grabbed a helmet, gave a grin, flashed the peace sign and took off -- at around 10:30 P.M. An hour later, when Randy hadn't returned, they became concerned.Randy's friends repeatedly called his cell phone -- they not only got no answer, but say the phone went dead. So that's when the group searched the wooded area for Randy. When they couldn't locate him by 3:00 A.M., they reported him missing to the police. In the days following Randy's disappearance, police conducted air, land and water searches. Bloodhounds were called in, and a helicopter took to the skies scouring the vast terrain. Police found the ATV Randy was riding about 200 yards away from his friend's house, upside down in a nearby canal that leads to the Appomattox River.Police canvassed the area where the ATV was found. There was no sign of a struggle, no blood and no clues and police have no idea how Randy's ATV found its way into the canal.According to Randy's friends, Randy was wearing a helmet, but police were unable to locate it.Police also never found Randy's cell phone, keys, or wallet -- items that he would surely have been carrying that night.Randy was last seen wearing a green Carhartt work shirt, dark blue sweatpants under blue jeans, a T-shirt hoodie and camouflage boots. Randy has piercings, including his tongue and nipples. He typically wears his hair long and has a goatee.Police have few leads in Randy's disappearance, but the case remains open and the investigation continues.Neither of his parents believe Randy would just disappear on his own.The weight of the wondering and hoping is taking its toll on the family. Randy's brother left a good job in West Virginia to return home and search for his brother. His mother comforts herself with the notion that Randy merely fell and hit his head, perhaps wandering away from where the ATV was found. She hopes he has been taken in by a kind stranger. She can't bear to think of anything else.Anyone with any information about Randy or this case, please contact either Crime Solvers: 804-861-1212, Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Department: 804-469-3755 or America’s Most Wanted: 1-888-CRIMETV.
