Recently silencing all critics, Samuel won seven gold medals at the International Performing Arts Championships in Los Angeles. Samuel was also the only Malaysian to perform at the world prestigious Palladium (Hollywood) in 2006.
Having studied under world greats such as Shahid Pervez, Samuel is often proclaimed to be one of the torchbearers of Indian classical music. A prolific composer and performer of the sitar in Malaysia and Singapore, Samuel created the internationally successful fusion group PRANA, which toured extensively from 2005-2007.
Leaving PRANA on hold temporarily Samuel has moved back to his roots and has recently opened his new school the Samuel Dass school of Hindustani Music in K.L, Malaysia, and is currently touring Australia.
He recently represented Malaysia for the World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA. He won 7 gold medals and one silver medal for the eight categories he took part in.
