Music, reading (mostly sci-fi, fantasy, history, or any combination thereof), baseball (Phillies Phan since 1977), anime, comic books, and whatever other shiny thing is soaking up my attention this week.
Just new friends. It's like the saying goes: "We need new friends to help us grow old, and old friends to help us stay young."
Also, fellow musicians. I'm tired of playing with myself. ^_^
I live for prog: Genesis (pre-1981), Yes, Spock's Beard (and Neal Morse), Dream Theater, Glass Hammer, echolyn, IQ, Rush, Kansas, Return to Forever, Discipline, Porcupine Tree, The Flower Kings, Camel, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Gentle Giant, Kevin Gilbert, Happy the Man, Jethro Tull, King Crimson (especially the 1972-1974 "heavy mental" incarnation), Marillion, Pain of Salvation, Transatlantic, National Health, Van Der Graaf Generator, and literally dozens of other bands.
Also plenty of non-prog music: Al Stewart, Moxy Früvous, Maaya Sakamoto (with Yôko Kanno), Steely Dan, The Beatles, Ludwig van Beethoven, Anton Bruckner, Franz Schubert, Thelonious Monk... the list goes on and on.
Favorite: The Lord of the Rings (which I consider one 11-hour-long movie)
Other favorites (in alphabetical order): The Abyss, Amadeus, The American President,
Casablanca, The Commitments, Field of Dreams, Finding Nemo, A Fish Called Wanda, Lilo & Stitch, The Princess Bride, Seven Samurai, Star Wars (just the 1977 one, mind you), Time Bandits, and the entire Hayao Miyazaki oeuvre.
Currently watching and loving the new Doctor Who (possibly the best thing on TV right now) and its various spin-offs, Heroes, Jericho, and House.
