About Me

D.R. “Doc” Grauberger has been acting professionally since 1969, when he started doing TV and radio commercials. However, live theatre, storytelling, and designing sets has always been his passion, and so he has been working with various Midwest theatres since the early ‘80's, including a number of years as designer for the award winning Black Hawk Children’s Theatre. He has served as a radio personality for different stations in both commercial and public radio, and once edited the Mid-Western literary magazine, “Northern Lights. He once headed the long running Waterloo Renaissance Festival, and has served on the boards of numerous other music and art festivals. As a storyteller he has performed across America and Europe from the most modest of libraries - to regional renaissance and cultural fairs, up to and including a 3 year stint with the Edinburgh International Arts festival. This last winter he was even seen playing “Long John Silver” in the deserts of New MexicoCurrently, when he isn’t to be found in the the northern woods of Wisconsin's St. Croix river valley, he leads his touring Renaissance group “the Merry Revelers”, builds and designs museum exhibits, directs and teaches in various children’s theatre programs, freelances as a scenic craftsman in the Twin cities market, and continues to tour locally and internationally as “Sir Gustave Doc’Tain” professional storyteller.
