Slow Hope Parade was written and recorded in NY over the course of a nine month period between (and during...) blackouts, benders, moments of bliss, philosophical isolation and spiritual derailment (by Kevin McGinnis ex- Ursula Points). Ninety-five percent of this record was recorded in one take straight through. Limited punch-ins, editing, etc. The only gear used in the making were a drum machine, m-box, laptop, acoustic guitar, one microphone (secret weapon), kurzweil keyboard, and a cello. Carl Glanville (U2 engineer/mixer) lent his grandness on two tracks. All songs were mixed by the great and talented Alex Newport at Future Shock Studio. Mastered fantastically by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering. Thanks and enjoy!
Kevin's past endeavors include playing in/with: New Rising Sons, Dopo Yume, Lord God, Bloodthirsty Lovers, Craig Wedren, Doug Gillard, and Ursula Points.

The Drug Models Love is essentially McGinnis, an American composer and performer, who has released major records in the past with bands such as Ursula Points. With an interest in the occult and spirituality and a talented combination of musicians the result is an easy listening record.
The catchy Last First Light begins with a breezy but powerful intro “this is my life, it’s all I can know†and includes the magical image of “fires that burn on angel’s wingsâ€. The sound is soothingly soft and laid-back. Sometimes a City Street has a beautiful string arrangement supported by Kevin’s hypnotizing voice; it’s about urban living.
A darker side emerges in Slow Hope Parade. It has a mysterious beat and explores the “disarray†all around. And Shorelines begs “Let them shape me, suddenly erase me.†It’s filled with wonder and magic.
When asked about his future plans for The Drug Models Love Kevin explains that he is already preparing a new record. He also has a UK tour planned this summer.
