So. Fancy rolling the Univese into a ball, anyone?

About Me

Umm... used to sing with a band that did mostly Heart/Meatloaf/T'Pau type songs and covers. Then I went and had kids. And did work that didnt involve music. Learnt a bit of guitar, but not enough yet to go where I want to, but enough to make a start. So,maybe I'm mad to do all this - I believe I've been called so. But the world's wild orbit is a bit mad in its own right, yes? And if anyone was to tell you about the things that exist on this planet, that you havent seen yet, you;d maybe think it all a bit loco. So, crazy and proud of it. Anyway, well behaved women dont make things happen.

Poetry's in the livingAnd in between all this, I leanrt about living and dying, loving and pitying, laughing and crying and all that shit. so, I write songs about them. Whether you like them or not. ;)~Im still learning. My timing sucks. I have a complicated life and am opinionated. Stubborn? oh yes. shy, sometimes, and unruly at others. But God loves a tryer:)Hope you enjoy the ride.....

Band Members: What is Ninth Wave, when my stage persona is Nancy Hartigan( long story- explained on another page!)?It;s hopefully, and eventually, a conglomerate of ideas, creativity etc, that results in something fun.Ameirgan, the greatest bard of all, said that once you pass the ninth wave form shore, you;re on your way to Hy Brassil, or the Isles of the Blessed; the place that your soul belongs. But the journey there will take you fro anything and everything that was familiar. Hence, I took it as my page name, as thats where i find me, a bit adrift, slightly bemused and at times really rather scared. all the songs are born of real emotions, real people, real sadness, lonliness, hope and joy. And longing, sometimes. And dreams. because Im actually an old fashioned girl under all the bluster, expecting stupid things like romance, gallantry, and kindness in life. Flowers always mean more than shiny things; pebbles and shells make better jewels than gems, as they transport you. Nothings as I expected or hoped it to be, but the waves are still rolling, and dont they say they bring you to your hearts desire at the end of the journey? There's me, and at present my string babies, Jabes( the oldest reliable old boy), Lorelei( trollop you see in the photos of performances!), Taylor the G chord banjo, all maple and walnut gleaming wood and slacker 'tude! and soon little baby Peri, who is a Daisy Rock.... gorgeous, and I love their ethos of making small necks for girls hands. Cute, till plugged in? Just like me, sure LOLyou'll find me , down at the wee bar, bottom of Pilot Street( oh, please to return to it, soon), or else up one of the deep narrow entries where Belfast was born, down by the brine and seagulls, the heart of the city where the ancient river culverts smell the place like a medieval city; a place once of merchants, rebels, sailors and whores- Just turn to the left of the 21st century, keep going down through the years and there I am. This is what I am, you cant be it, or fake it- this is me.And I'll tell you stories about the past and the present, and the things that yet may be. maybe they;re not very precise or groomed, as its all recorded on a wing and a prayer and a sofa arm, but the songs are here- they;re mine, they're true and if you wnat to do anything with them? talk to me :)
How Bluegrass Are You? Your Result: Ultimate Bluegrasser

You've been singing Flatt & Scruggs since you were in diapers. You can pick a guitar, banjo, fiddle, dobro, mandolin, and a bass (and if you can't you should!) Your custom modified camper with the banjo shaped door handles adds a nice touch. Keep it going, Bill would be proud!
