About Me


The story of a local band doing well for themselves is one that has become all too familiar, throughout the hundreds of cities around the hemisphere.
In order to separate yourself from the usual run of the mill success stories you have to have an original one to tell and St Catharine's F.Y.I has that....
Back during their high school days,guitarist/vocalist Marc Charbonneau and guitarist Brian Toye, and drummer Mike Vega went to school then came home and rocked out...
Then is was time to part ways and focus on College and University. A few years would pass, higher learning would be completed, and the trio would eventually reform and start jamming it out again...
Originally writing and performing stirctly instrumental tracks, the schoolmates put together a demo C.D and went hunting for people to rounf out their band....
First up, they wanted a voice...Initially there would be a long list of auditions most of which didnt not go so well because as Charbonneau sees it "everyone in this city is a singer".
This opinion wouldn't end the hunt though, and soon enough they'd meet the vocalist Kevin McGowan at a bar, and handed over some recording to him and before they knew it a voice was found!!
Shorty after Charbonneau, Toye, and McGowan would be introduced to bassit Trevor Dirstein by Vega, who had previoulsy spent time with that player in a cover band F.Y.I was now born...
And look where they are today...
