What defines us? How are we measured? Some say appearance, personality, possessions, or accomplishments. I believe otherwise. A man is measured by his heart, his ability to love as well as his mental and spiritual capacity. A good man told me once that “The flower of knowledge opens petal by petal under the thousands of shocks life brings usâ€. During life we all go through thousands of shocks, trials, and tests. Negativity surrounds us on a regular basis. Disasters occur one after another like waves smashing on the rocks, but as the tides come and go there is peace and tranquility during all the chaos. The problem is most time we get caught up in the chaos and allow it to consume us, we don’t take the time to heal our wounds after battle. Instead we carry on battle after battle fighting and fighting until it deteriorates our bodies and detaches us from who we really are. There’s a time for everything. A wise man knows how to handle and deal with those disasters and shocks, a wise man determines the verdict of the trials in his life. “We curse the darkness instead of lighting a candle.†Born and raised in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. I experienced beauty but didn’t cherish it. I was too caught up in the material society that we live in. I learned after being in the Air Force for 6 ½ years, away from home, family and friends that life is much more than just material possessions. Sure we all need money to live in this day and age, but my mistake was thinking that it was important. It took a series of unfortunate events to open my eyes to this. Now I give praises to all the things that Akua has bestowed on me rather than curse the things that I don’t have anymore. Im a pretty simple kind of guy, who doesn’t need or have time for complications and negativity in my life. I have a very big heart and am not afraid to open it even though it gets broken from time to time. My true friends know me as the kind of man that would take a bullet for them or the kind of guy that would bring the shovel and some lime if you got in way over your head. Do on to others as you would have them do on to you, cause karma’s a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!. I grew up between oahu and the big island and ended up graduating from kaimuki. I have a huge family being my great great grandmother had 21 children. Right now im still in the military for one more year. Focused and excited about my future when I get out next year in june. Its time for me to answer my calling. During my military I have met a lot of very good friends. Friends that I keep dear to my heart, and protect them through my prayers.
