Kevin was born in Lexington, Kentucky and at a very early age, his family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There, he was surrounded by the music of country "greats" like Merle Haggard, George Jones, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Roy Clark, Buck Owens, Little Jimmy Dickens and many other great country music artists. Kevin learned early that he had a passion for music, which followed in the footsteps of many of his family members. His Uncle Lee (Leroy Brown) was featured on "Hee Haw" many times and played guitar regularly with Roy Clark and Buck Owens. Another of Kevin's uncles, Walter Scott, was a country music songwriter and wrote the hit song "Burning Bridges", which was sung by greats such as Conway Twitty and Jack Scott. It hit number one on the charts in three countries including right here in the USA. Kevin's dad, Everett Haynes, played rhythm guitar for artists such as Ricky Nelson and The Grateful Dead.
Kevin started playing guitar at the age of five. Soon after, he discovered his god-given talent - his voice. He wrote his first song (Bang Shang-alang) at age seven. His first "show" was at age ten where he won 1st place in his elementary school talent show. He went on to succeed in the "rock" genre of music, playing major venues for large audiences and writing songs, some of which were accepted and performed by national recording artists. Kevin's last stint in rock music was with a local Florida band named Sonar7(www.garageband.com/Sonar7). Although the band was doing very well, the "feeling" wasn't there for Kevin. "I feel like there's something missing when I'm doing rock music. I'm at home with country music. That's where my roots and my heart are."
So Kevin started writing country music once again. He's currently getting his musicians together and working on his debut country album. Don't be surprised to see Kevin on the Broadway strip in Nashville or performing at a venue near you... SOON! "I'm finally where I need to be in music.... I'm finally home".
