Evangelist Shenell Dixon is a native of Houston, TX. She began singing @ the age of 5 years old in the Sunshine Band under the leadership of her mother, Minister Mamie Lewis. At the time, she was attending Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX, where her grandfather, FJ Baptiste III is the pastor. Shenell's family background is full of anointed singers, so the seed was planted in her as well.Currently Shenell serves on the Praise Team @ New Jerusalem Whole Truth Church in Houston, TX under the leadership of Apostle Lee Edward Gaddie, Sr and Prophetess Pearly Gaddie. She is also a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel and is the founder of Women of Purpose, Power, and Provision Ministries. Under the leadership of legendary, Minister LeAndrew Laron Gaddie, she was groomed into the psalmist she is today.In 2002 the Lord began to download songs into her spirit through the things that He was taking her through for the perfecting of her ministry. At the command of God, Shenell stepped out on faith and prepared to present the songs the Lord had given unto her. In 2005, she began her group, Shenell Dixon and Friends. Her unique style of singing is that of a neo-churchy sound with an anointing that destroys the yolks. Since then, Shenell Dixon and Friends have ministered all of the city, and other places, proclaiming the word of God.Shenell is happily married to Associate Pastor, Larry D. Dixon who works closely by her side in ministry and in business. He is also her Executive Producer. They have two wonderful children, Amber and Tyler Dixon, whom they are raising up in the music ministry as well.
