Bebe......... a strange name for a singer raised between Zafra, Montijo, Merida and Badajoz. The reason for all this coming and going: her parents......... musicians, members of the folk group “Surberinaâ€. So, as you can well imagine, surrounded all day long with instruments and music, she had his own guitar by the time she was eleven and when 1995 came around she was ready to kick off as a player in the group “Vanagloriaâ€.
One year later she left for Badajoz where accompanied only with her voice, her own songs and her guitar, she started to give concerts in a region where this type of performance is always a surprise. That same year she migrated to Madrid to begin studying Dramatic Arts. Within a few months, she had joined the troupe of singer-songwriters that played in the city bars (La Redacción, Libertad 8, El Búho Real, etc.) and in 2001 she won a singer-songwriter competition in Extremadura.
BEBE is already a reality, and her later collaborations with Tontxu and especially with Luis Pastor are proof of this. She is beginning to act with a band, but without leaving aside her individual performances. However it is clear that playing live with friends is enriching in a very special way (the Combo Linga and the TÃo Calambres are her best confabulators in these concerts). Their songs are acquiring new hues and contrasts.... they are growing more and more and increasingly they find difficulty in sticking to the score and the occasions on which BEBE sings to his increasingly numerous fans in their performances.
At the end of 2003, the moment arrived to materialise every composer’s dream of putting everything that permeates her life and music on an album. With the prodigious know-how of that natural talent for production that is Carlos Jean, they have managed to create a solid and impressive disk..... with attitude, with a lot of attitude; and particularly, the most important: with great songs.
