Looks like dance, pop, and rock finally had a dark threesome with catchy music in the form of Walk The Rio. Song writing is vocal and synthesizer driven with guitars still fronting the rock overtone. If you like My Chemical Romance, Nine Inch Nails, and secretly listen to Michael Jackson in your spare time (R.I.P.), you may find yourself becoming a fan of Walk The Rio.
The band formed in late 2008 after members parted ways from former bands. Former Bands' Accomplishments include: Best Hard Rock Group Nomination (OC Music Awards), Best Indie Rock Group Nomination (IE Music Awards), label artist (FSH/Universal), licensing deals, music placement (MTV, Warped), and local radio play.
In a few months Walk The Rio was able to release 2 EPs (2008 Self-Titled, 2009 One Hand and the Clap Heard Round the World). The 2009 EP changed paths from the first CD, geared towards gritty rock and dance music. WTR achieved publishing with the most exclusive performance rights organization SESAC. World famous venues such as Whisky-A-Go-Go, Viper Room, Chain Reaction, and Knitting Factory have experienced the live performance of WTR. In a digital world, people still need the feel of a live rock band. WTR combines digital synthesizer and samples with 2 guitars, live drums, bass, and an entourage of vocals, making a triumphant sound not restricted to a backing track like most digital music.
WTR draws from their past influences and experiences to create a new breed of music catered for success. Perseverance, networking, and good songs are the only way to play music for a living. WTR focuses on writing good songs by creating hooks, energy, and focusing on playing as many shows as possible; being devilishly good looking helps as well. “We are here for the journey and the music, not the scene. Feel free to enjoy.â€
