Metal driven video game tunes. Yeah it's been done before, but if people didn't do things just cause it's been done before then nothing would ever progress. I'm not saying I'm progressing the movement... just thought it sounded deep and it makes me sound kinda smartish :P
Thanks for checking out the space. You were either directed here by myself or you're lost.
My name is Greg. Perhaps you've heard some of my work with my main band Torrential Reign. In not, then you should ;)
Playing video games has always been a big part of my life. Ever since I could hold a controller I've been eating away hours of my life to those special little dots/sprites/polygons...
Metal is also a huge part of my life. Nothing gets me more fired up than hearing a song that's in tune with what I'm feeling at that particular moment... provided it has heavy guitars, crunching bass and pounding drums!
There are many metal made game tunes and I love the fist pounding fury of metal with the nostalgic feel of a classic game tune. Not to mention that the game tunes are actually well constructed pieces on their own!
Making my own metal versions of game tunes has always been a cool idea in my head, but I never thought I'd actually get around to doing it myself. I have finally taken that plunge.
This project, though not breaking any new ground, will try to do tunes that aren't covered as much as say CastleVania's "Bloody Tears" or the "Super Mario Bros." theme. I will try to do more obscure tunes, but tunes still popular enough to emit that nostalgic feel.
Hopefully you enjoy what I have to offer. It should be a fun ride!

My first offering is my rendition of "Stalker". For those not in the know, that is the level 2 music from the NES game CastleVania.
The second song is called "Lord of the Enslaved" and this tune brings forth "Lord of Night" and "World Enslaved" from the NES game Ninja Gaiden II! It also has a couple of surprises thrown into the mix!
The third song is my version of the title screen music from the game NES classic "R.C. Pro-Am".
The fourth song is "Godzilla". Featuring music from the NES game "Godzilla: Monster of Monsters" as well as the "Godzilla March" theme from the movies and a little bit of Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla.
Special thanks goes out to MetalJoe for lending me his guitar and keyboard, and to Vortex for sprucing up the page with some killer graphics! Thanks guys!
