DUO DESAFINADOThe two guitarists Christian Verspay and Takayuki Takegata studied classical guitar at the
Musikhochschule Köln Abt. Aachen (Music University Cologne department Aachen) with
Prof. Tadashi Sasaki.
At the beginning their musical career startet very different.
Takayuki Takegata began to play guitar at the age of 4 and from that time he has won many
prizes at different guitar competitions,e.g.first prize in the student guitar competition in Tokio 1998 and the international guitar competition in Nagoya 1999.He has given concerts with
orchestra and played in different chamber musical instrumentations.
Christian Verspay first started to learn electric guitar (Jazz/Rock) and later he came to play
classical guitar.Besides playing guitar competitions and giving recitals,he keeps working with
artists of different musical styles (south American folklore,Jazz).
They met each other for the first time at a guitar festival in Germany in 2002 and in the following year they became fellow-students at the university in cologne.
Soon after that they foundet the guitar duo “Duo Desafinadoâ€.Since then the guitar duo has
impressed in many concerts at home and abroad.In September 2004 they had been invited to
give concert tour in Japan.
The concert repertoire of the duo covers covers many musical epochs and styles:
from baroque to contemporary music,from classical to spanish or latinamerican style.
All these different influences and backgrounds have made this guitar duo fascinating and
interesting.
