About Me

NEWS: I'm usually doing a 'turn' at Chorlton Folk Club on Thursdays. It's a friendly place with all sorts of different acts - blues, jazz, folk, poets, singers -just the place play the mixed palette of stuff I have. I hope to have a few gigs arranged by the summer at other places too. In May/June I hope to be recording my stuff in a proper studio!..................................................... ............................................................ ..........................................BIOG: I've been putting songs together prolifically for many years. The vehicles I used to deliver them in the past - tried and tested ways usually through a band via a fuzzbox - have not done justice to the way many of the songs should be. It's only recently that this has occured to me... but through the encouragement and support of friends and loved ones I've stripped almost everything off with the aim of revealing simple quality, clarity, dynamism and space in the music. I'm still learning and am now going backwards to go forwards - like bothering to practice a bit more, develop my style and create moving music that does things for other people as well as myself. I intend to continuously showcase new material on this myspace stage. Feel free to listen, cover, trash... your feedback is much appreciated................................................. ............................................................ .............This is the video of the recording of 'The Never Song' (above) It's slightly over-exposed - but not a bad effect actually! ..................................Here's me with a song of mine called 'Failure to Thrive' (March 2007). These words were written on the death certificate of my cousin in Florida who just made 30 and the song is a story of her life after arriving there aged 15. The song was originally performed by TAB-D though I think it works better acoustically.
