From typical humble beginnings in August of 2002, to what has become HORSE CALLED WAR with current line up guitarist Bryan Slusser, bassist Nick Brower, vocalist Aaron Korstjens and drummer, TJ Mansfield. What started as innocent jam/drinking sessions formed the groundwork that strengthens HORSE CALLED WAR's music to the next level.Horse Called War has developed a following throughout the southwest that continues to grow with every blistering, energetic live performance. HORSE CALLED WAR has shared the stage with many national and regional acts including: Lamb of God, OTEP, W.A.S.P, Children of Bodom, Powerman 5000, Suffocation, Behemoth, Silent Civilian, Cattle Decapitation, Bleed the Sky, A Dozen Furies(RIP), Manntis, Thine Eyes Bleed, Curse Your Name, Horror, My Ruin, Rikets, Dryline, Hostility, Self Inflicted, and many others. The band first captured their aggressive & driven sound on their debut 4 song EP "barriers" in March of 2004, followed by their highly anticipated 5 song follow up EP "tainted America" in July of 2005. The two brothers started out writing original songs and lyrics, eventually performing these songs with the music pre-recorded and a theatrical flare. All the while looking for talented musicians to amp up the live performance. Soon after playing OKC’s Bricktown live in 2004 Ernold, Travis, Kevin, Sean and Shetira all became a part of the 6.Y.D. family. Now writing and performing original new and older songs the band has created a serious sound all thier own. In the past members have played in a wide range of bands including; INTESTINAL DISORDER SCARRED THUMP 101 LOST RITUAL REDUCE2NUTHING These bands have played with the likes of TYPE O NEGATIVE, ACID BATH, PUNGENT STENCH, M.O.D., LIFE OF AGONY, MUSHROOMHEAD, DOPE, JACKNIFE, CRISIS, GOAT WHORE and many more national, and international acts. Not to mention the many more to come. Six Years Dead has also played with many killer respected local acts...Days Of Grey, Severence, War Of The Mind, Disjointed, Exalta to name a few. 6.Y.D. has been honored to share the stage with many talented musicians and are grateful to be a part of todays heavy music scene! Six Years Deads’ style definately cannot be catagorized under any one style of rock. The band has many songs in which you can hear influences of heavy rock, hip-hop, metal, jazz and even a bit of classical. The tight knit group of childhood friends, musical talent, and drive become a perfect mix for success. 6IX YEARS DEAD ************************************************************ HOLLOW EYE* After many months of writing material, long 12 hour practices and bleeding temples, HollowEye has arrived. Combining the talents of four individuals coming from such heavy hitting Okc bands as Lure, Catalyst, and The Planets Align, HollowEye has evolved into a complete, cohesive, unit. Good musicians on their own, but together, create something entirely different. Something with a life of its own. In their music, they emit emotions that are palpable. The rage, the hurt, the triumph, the love, when they have left the stage you know they meant every second of it. A monster that plays with unrelenting ferocity and machine-like precision. HollowEye has helped fill a void of original heavy acts both on a local level, as well as relief from what is being played on the radio. They have proved that if you act with a certain amount of professionalism, that you will be treated as such. Also, that you don't have to write cheesy hooks and songs filled with negativity to have a product that all can enjoy. It is this kind of strong work ethic and intense drive that has brought them to completeing their first EP, "Kings", at the infamos Trent Bell Labs. They are looking forward to future travel of the Mid-West music scene. HOLLOW EYE ************************************************************ ENFUNURATION* ENFUNERATION BIO COMING SOON... ************************************************************ FINAL RIOT* It all started in the summer of 2004 with just a few friends from school getting together to play their instruments. These young men formed a band but needed a name; after tossing around many ideas they came up with Final Riot. In January 2006, after 2 drummers, the guys found a reliable drummer and a steady line-up. Final Riot began to write and finish more songs. Then, in early August 2006, after long droughts of no practice and various musical differences, 3 members of Final Riot quit to form their own project, leaving Tyler Bingaman and Chris Stokes to find new musicians to continue what they had worked so hard to create. Shortly after the dust settled, Chris called upon a good friend and bassist Josh Fearing who had offered to fill in. Josh joined on bass guitar and Final Riot was slowly on their way back. After a few practices with only one guitar player and no drummer, Final Riot was still in search of members. Soon they found Alex Denny, a friend and former co-worker of Tyler’s, to fill in on the second guitar. The four continued searching for the last member. With no luck, the four continued looking, but focused on writing music acoustically. Eight months later and only a few prospects, Final Riot found their 5th member in former Soul Crisis drummer Brett Johnson. Less than a month later, Final Riot was up and running. They debuted the new line up playing at two Battle of the Bands and won People’s Choice at the second. Since then, Final Riot has been hard at work to push themselves to the next level. One of the youngest bands in the Oklahoma heavy metal scene, Final Riot is probably one of the hardest working bands in the state. Out in the field every week promoting and playing shows. The members of Final Riot each have their own unique personality which adds to the dynamic of the band. Each member’s influences all differ and range from blues to death metal and just about anything and everything in between. Old school meets new school. A majority of Final Riot’s music is written in a way where the listener can put their own meaning to the songs. The topics of the songs vary from social and political issues to history and fantasy to personal struggles and triumphs.Just has the music makes use of metaphors, other aspects of the band can be thought of metaphorically. The name Final Riot, for example, has a few meanings, one being “Riot”, which is an acronym for “Rapture In Our Time”. This, itself has a few meanings; one could look at it from a religious point of view or as Charles Dickens said “listening to sweet music in a perfect rapture”. Or another way too look at it is the last party, the final riot! Once again, one can interpret it in their own way. Another example of metaphors used within the band is the work shirts the band wears on stage. They represent the hard work this band puts forth. It’s all about finding the perfect balance between work and fun. All in all, Final Riot are dedicated musicians ready to make their mark! FINAL RIOT ************************************************************ SOUL-CRISIS* Soul Crisis in the webster dictionary taken from the 2 words "soul" and "crisis", an unstable condition of a disembodied spirit of a dead human, Soul-Crisis was formed in febuary of 2006 by, David Pemberton,Brett Johnson,Josh Madden,Riley Hahn and Sarah Solsbery. Josh has parted ways with the band do to reasons beond his control and now we welcome chad carr into the band. SOUL-CRISIS ************************************************************ THE PHOENIX SYNDROM* A band bio huh? A little bit of history? For those of you who were around back in the day, then you already know four of us. For those who weren’t, here’s how it goes. Formed in late October 2005 from former members of Catastrophic Error, (Daniel, and Nick) , Lowlife P.O.S. (Jerry), and Primal Soul,(the indescribable force known to the public only as......Juice), the members of what is now The Phoenix Syndrome decided to take another shot at the metal music scene. In December of 2006, the Phoenix Syndrome filled in a missing piece of the puzzle by adding Lloyd (former Proof Theory Guitarist) to the line-up, putting our numbers up to five, the size of a small army. "The name fits...we are the survivors....the ones who refuse to give up......" Hence The Phoenix Syndrome. We rose from the ashes even after being long burned out. We’ve come a long way since those former bands and I strongly encourage anybody who loves the heavy shit to come and take part of The Phoenix Syndrome... THE PHOENIX SYNDROME ************************************************************ REVOLUTION PARIAH* pariah (puh-rye'-uh): one who is cast out from his/her home or societyLife was breathed into Revolution Pariah through a collaboration that began in late 2004 by drummer Danielle Bufford and guitarist Zo Zuniga. After several months of open jam sessions, the pursuit of a more serious project began. As a result a search was launched to find other dedicated musicians to form the band. In February 2005, bassist Danny Ross and guitarist Anders Brujordet joined up with Danielle and Zo, turning what was a duo into a hard rock band. However, still feeling musically incomplete, the hunt for a lead vocalist was initiated. After an exhaustive audition process, Tim Reinke was asked to join the band. Tims lyrics coupled with his vocal lines brought the bands musical picture into focus, giving it a more edgy metal sound, thus completing Revolution Pariah. After playing numerous shows in the Norman/OKC area, it came time for us to say "good-bye" to Anders as his student visa expired and he was deported by the federal goverment back to his home land of Norway. In August of 2005, after yet another series of auditions, guitarist Joshua Baird was asked to join the band and incorporate his thrash-influenced writing into our music. In May 2006, we parted ways with Danny and our friend Adams Rodriguez was asked to step in, take over the low-end duties, and incorporate his finger style into our sound. Recently, July 2006, Tim left the band due to reasons beyond his control. We were left without a frontman and had alot on our plate. We knew we couldn't sit idle for long. By August of 2006, we had tried a couple other vocalists, but one stuck out. Tony Snow was asked to be the voice of Revolution Pariah. We knew he embodied the word "Pariah", but his brutal vocals and clever lyrics shed new light on the music. Combining each individual members musical ability, Revolution Pariah delivers rhythm-heavy metal/rock intertwined with epic melodies and complex time structures. The band uses a wide range of musical influences as inspiration to create a powerful original sound. Revolution Pariah is a very driven group of musicians who have dedicated their lives to creating music, which is revealed through genuinely passionate performances. REVOLUTION PARIAH ************************************************************ SELF INFLICTED* Self Inflicted was started in October 2000, by guitarist/vocalist/drummer Keith McCormick and guitarist Brian Unruh. Drummer John Keese and bassist Chris Floyd joined shortly after that to complete the line up. The band recorded a 3 song demo and began playing live around Oklahoma. They released a three song demo in 2001, and three self financed CDs: "Punishment of Tomorrow", in 2002; "Beyond the Agony of Never", in 2004; "What Never Was...Will Never Be", in 2008. The band has also been featured on the following compilation CDs: Nightfall Records’ Milwaukee Metalfest 17; Heavycore Records’ Core til Death 3; Cordial Records’ International Touring Compilation; Infinite Records’ Compilation Vol. 1 & Vol. 2; Camp Fury Records’ Base Camp 001; Loco Diablo Records’ Underground Compilation CD Vol. 9 & Vol. 10. Like all bands Self Inflicted has had its share line up changes. In 2001 Brian left, and after several attempts to replace him, which included Ian Pospisil (who is appears on the Beyond the Agony of Never album, and still fills in on live shows) and Manifest Destiny’s Brent Wheatley(RIP), the band continued on as a three piece until drummer John Keese left in 2004. At that time, they added second guitarist Neil Howell and replaced John with Danny Thompson. Danny left the band in 2006, and with no luck finding a drummer, Keith decided to move from guitar to drums. Two months later, bassist Chris Floyd quit due to family obligations, so Keith and Neil asked long time friend Willo to fill in on bass to finish out some shows. With the shows over, Willo departed. Now a two piece, Keith and Neil headed into the studio to start work on the new CD. Not wanting to record the bass tracks themselves, they asked Manifest Destiny bassist Kieth Wiley to play bass. He agreed, one thing led to another and Kieth ended up becoming a full time member of Self Inflicted. Being very happy with the line up, Self Inflicted again agrees to remain a three piece. Over the years Self Inflicted has had the privilege of sharing the stage with such national & regional acts as Joey Belladonna, High On Fire, Meshuggah (twice), Strapping Young Lad, Soilent Green, Goatwhore (8X), Prong, The Black Dahlia Murder, All That Remains, A Perfect Murder, Watch Them Die, Malevolent Creation, Mnemic(twice), Deadbird, Dare Diablo, Exhumed, Element, Spooky Fruit, Manifest Destiny, SkullPL8, Horse Called War, Dwell Within, Lycergus, Nothing Remains, The Destro, Jacknife, Black Market Ministry, and Music Hates You. Self Inflicted has also played the famed Milwaukee Metalfest in 2003, the Midwest Monsters of Metal Showcase in 2004, the Dallas Doom Daze Metal Festival in 2008, as well as countless benefit shows for local musicians and businesses. Self Inflicted continues to spread their unique brand of Oklahoma Sludge through out the region’s metal scene.SELF INFLICTED BIO COMING SOON... ************************************************************ BLEEDING WISDOM* BLEEDING WISDOMBIO COMING SOON... ************************************************************ GRAVEDIGGERS JOKEBOOK* Gravediggers Jokebook was created in August of 1998 when two friends from Jay, OK were sitting around having a beer and deciced to take their everyday hobbies and turn them into a career. Those two members being Ryan Lancaster and Mike "Midnite" Teehee. Ryan had a real unique, spoken word, singing/screaming style and Midnite played guitar ranging from heavy, distorted riffs to clean, beautiful, yet eerie style riffs. They started writing songs together and thus formed Gravediggers Jokebook. Now the next thing for them to do was to find the rest of the band so they could pursue their dream. Mike put up numerous fliers around Northeastern Oklahoma stating... "Drummer and Bassist needed whose influences include Meshuggah, Acid Bath, Clutch and Machine Head." The first sucessful response was from Dave Ryals for bassist. Dave was a local Vinita resident so he had no problem making practice. Their next sucessful response was from Eric French for drummer, who also happened to be from Vinita. So the four of them got together, worked on the songs, and the songs came together perfectly. GJ was off to an awesome start. Having a little push from Tim Asher who played Manager at first, GJ went into the studio after just two months and cut a four song demo. On New Years Eve of 1998-99, GJ landed their first gig. The audience loved it! GJ started to aquire many fans which created a following. GJ was stoked that people actually embraced and loved the band which they had created. This pushed GJ to record more songs and do more shows. Doing at least one to two shows a month for a year got their music out there and the bands feet wet in the music scene. They played with bands such as Bag Eyes, Thirty Ot Six who went on to become Still Breathing (Solid State Records), Downcast, Underside, The Agony Scene, and much more. GJ was really starting to enjoy their time as a Rock Band! So the story ends and they all live happily ever after, right...? WRONG! Their bassist loses motivation and is terminated! Luckilly, GJ saw this coming and had started training another local Vinita talent on the bass. Jeff Young, one of Eric's high school buddies took on the position of bassist in 2001. He fit great and the band was off again! GJ went into the studio and cut four more songs. They now had enough material to throw a full length cd together to spread around. In early 2002, GJ independantly released their debut album,"Garden of Earthly Delight". They continued to play and write more material but kinda started to cut down on the shows. Everyone in the band started having kids and that started to slow the band down even more. Just about that time GJ had major problems with their singer, Ryan, and bassist, Jeff. GJ was forced to terminate them both. So what GJ did now was pull Eric's two younger brothers into the band. Jeremiah French who stepped in as vocalist and Brian French as the new bassist! GJ suddenly took a turn for the better. They started steering clear of most of the slower stuff and just started becoming more brutal. Jeremiah added a real METAL, hardcore, heavier sound to the band. GJ was pretty much heavy now but hadn't lost that 80's groove that Midnite brings. GJ started booking more shows and writing more music. GJ played DFest X-Rated in 2003 in Tulsa, OK and got a great response from the crowd. They liked having Jeremiah on board and the crowd loved him too. They cut a little three song demo straight out of the jam room for people to hear. Played more shows...wrote more songs... Then they cut a five song demo in the studio. They were finally starting to get somewhere. They were booked for a Major Record Label Showcase in St. Louis, MO at which Atlantic, Colombia and Island Def Jam records would attend. The booking agent called back 2 weeks prior to the showcase and informed them that there would be no METAL A&R Representatives at the showcase and refunded them their money. If you think thats bad, Jeremiah now decided that he was moving to California. Gravediggers was thrown for yet another loop! This time they were extremely frustrated. Every time these guys seem to get their feet back on the ground, someone in the band has to be fired or quits. Eric and Midnite were the only originals left in the band, but they still had Brian on bass. GJ thought that it seemed kinda pointless to carry on under the same name so Midnite, Brian, and Eric found a new singer and started under the name, "Cherish the Memory". It was still GJ basically but with a new singer and a new name. CTM started playing shows and the band was hotter than ever! Playing 1-3 shows a week the band became like a machine. Getting tighter and still writing new material. CTM cut a three song demo in the studio and pushed themselves out there. They opened for bands such as Misery Index (Relapse), A Day to Remember (Victory), Intronaut, Fuck the Facts (Relapse), and many more. They also played D-Fest X in 2006. CTM only lasted about a year though and the singer just wasn't right for them. CTM was dead! Now with like 30 some songs under their belt and 10 years deep in the biz, Gravediggers Jokebook found what they have been looking for in a vocalist! Lelen Powell, another resident of Vinita, recieved a phone call from the band due to some recommendations from friends of his and meeting him once or twice in the progress. Lelen knew of the band already from years ago and was aware of their style and precision and felt honored to step in and have a jam with GJ. GJ imediately loved Lelens' style. Lows Mids and Highs(Screams) and also the want to sing a little. GJ had just discussed looking for someone just like that. Someone who could bring back the old as well as keep up with the new. So,...Gravediggers Jokebook is back! This time taking the time to work on a brand new album,"Random Lines of Unholy Destruction" which looks to come out "Fall of 2008". "The band sounds more like it did back in 1998 with our new singer" says Eric. "Old Gravediggers with a lot more new brutality. GJ will never lose that groove though. It's the GJ groove. It's what we do! You can be confident the new album will melt your face off!"-GJ- GRAVEDIGGERS JOKEBOOK ************************************************************ DOWN FOR FIVE* DOWN FOR FIVE BIO COMING SOON... ************************************************************ VIOLENCE TO VEGAS* "These Oklahoma rockers blend metal belligerence and memorable hooks on their 2006 debut EP, with tracks like the anthemic "Delete the Dream" and the searing "Return to Lust" packing a hefty punch. The band features former members of The Agony Scene (RoadRunner Records) and Still Breathing (Solid State Records). HOLLYWOOD BURNING ************************************************************ DESTROYER DESTROYER* In conversation with a Jamaican buddy of mine, I bit the bullet and broached a topic that'd been gnawing at my cranium. Despite the potential of my inquiry to shatter all notions of political correctness and its perpetuation of urban/racial stereotypes, I needed to know: What's the deal with Jamaican dudes and their attraction to, shall we say, heavy-set Caucasian women for whom trailers are used as long-term accommodation? Attempting to recreate the patois of his reply here would be impossible, but apparently said attraction has something to do with the downward force that comes with ample girth and gravity during girl-on-top copulation positions. Among the many, many, many horrifying things said explanation got me pondering, was how the hourglass figure sometimes gets forsaken for the brick shithouse; how the tender and sensual often makes way for the rough and tumble; why some voluntarily sign up for no-limit Ultimate Fighting over that weak-ass boxing shit, where "combatants" get penalized for hitting below the belt. This also explains why Oklahoma's Destroyer Destroyer rule so fucking much. There's nothing nice about this album. There's no attempt at subtlety or nuance, musical cohesion is treated with extreme prejudice and if you're looking for melody, I suggest that's what you name your first born daughter, 'cause you're not going find any of that crap here. Imagine taking Converge, Today Is the Day and Gaza, subtracting whatever shiny-happiness exists and shooting what's left in the chest with an air-rifle—there you have the screaming, wailing mess of Destroyer Destroyer. "Songs" like "A Golden Technique," "Off the Beaten Path," We've Been Had" and "The Feeling Is Mutual" are all awesome in their discordant brutality and WTF? factor, but you likely won't remember much once Littered With Arrows is done and you're wiping drool and blood off your chin. Indeed, it helps to be in a team-leader-immolating, neighbor-throat-slashing, Wal-Mart-greeter-disemboweling mood to best appreciate this beautiful fucking mayhem. They were influenced by death metal, metalcore, progressive metal, and experimental music. They have since parted ways and pursue different interests (timestamp April, 2007.) Some of the bands that inspired Against Seventy Two were: Arch Enemy, As I Lay Dying, Becoming the Archetype, Circle Of Dust, Demon Hunter, Gojira, Iron Maiden, Ion Dissonance, Lamb of God, Living Sacrifice, Mortal Treason, Threat Signal, Zao, etc. The music of Against 72 was dynamic, with brutal riffs shifting into melodic passages. They were unwilling to limit themselves to any specific genre of metal, and even more unwilling to avoid controversial topics in their songwriting. Their lyrics delved into a variety of viewpoints about spirituality, religious hypocrisy, child abuse, the failures of our criminal justice system, and other topics that cause civil unrest in today's society. The beliefs of Against 72 were ones that largely identified with the teachings and examples set by Christ, but they had no need for the stagnant mediocrity displayed by most mainstream religion. They believed that there was a force in the Universe that created, protected, and nurtured whoever would call upon it. They believed they were on a journey to understand themselves and challenged their own beliefs in order to grow as individuals. AGAINST 72 ************************************************************ FORTE* Forte was formed in 1990 by Jeff Scott (guitar) , brother Greg Scott (drums) , Rev Jones (bass) with former Oliver Magnum vocalist James Randel. The band recorded and released their debut ep. DEMENTIA BY DESIGN, generating a huge buzz on the band which was followed by constant touring and performing with bands such as PANTERA,OVERKILL,SAVATAGE,FLOTSAM AND JETSAM,FATES WARNING,EXODUS,PRONG,and countless others, creating a reputation as a ferocious live act. In early 1991 METAL BLADE RECORDS selected the title track from the ep DEMENTIA BY DESIGN as the third track on METAL MASSACRE volume 11. Shortly thereafter the band signed with Germany's MASSACRE RECORDS in late 91. Then travelled to Germany in Feb 92 to record their debut lp STRANGER THAN FICTION. The album sold well in Europe and established the band in a great light. The band recorded and released their follow up DIVISION in 94 which was released worldwide receiving great reviews on both sides of the Atlantic , continuing to tour with the likes of DREAM THEATER,YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, and TESTAMENT. In 96 with metal at an all time low the band recorded their heaviest work to date, FORTE III DESTRUCTIVE, the album was released featuring new vocalist DAVID THOMPSON. The band moved forward once again touring and supporting SUICIDAL TENDENCIES,TESTAMENT,EXODUS,KING DIAMOND, as well as headlining shows in the U.S. In 1999 the band released their fourth album RISE ABOVE. once again receiving great reviews. Tours with Death, Hammerfall, Testament, and Manowar followed. Tension with MASSACRE at an all time high over the label's inabliltiy to book a European tour and lack of promotion for the album , the band ended their ties with the label and the band went on hiatus.... They have written and performed new material since their inception. In June 2005 the band recorded their debut CD and 7'' "New Paeans of Hate". The disc is a lightning fast assault of discharge simplicity, voivodian abstraction, and slayer propulsion. From the napalm fueled barrage of "like rubbing salt in an open wound for days" to the venomous discord of "Made to be Wasted" GESTALT are firing with a full clip--armed with intriguing lyrics and devastatingly brutal yet varied vocals. The band shift easily into the rigid killing precision and amphetamine climax of "for the backstabbers...". In the last year GESTALT has shared bills with METAL CHURCH, DWARVES, MISERY INDEX, HOLY MOUNTAIN, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, DEBRIS INC, ACID KING, YOB, SWARM OF THE LOTUS, HEROIN SHEIKS, SEEIN RED, THE ESOTERIC, WINTER SOLSTICE, BURY THE LIVING, MAGRUDERGRIND, ION DISSONANCE and PREMONITIONS OF WAR perfecting their live attack to chainsaw precision. GESTALT have delivered a brief punishing attack on modern metal. The first shot in their neverending war on cliche and conformity. The band are currently looking for a serious label to release their new material. In merely a year, Fist of Five has gone from playing beer covered floors in college bars to traveling all over the southern region sharing the stage in sold out crowds of thousands with National acts. Such bands include Universal recording artist Hinder, as well as Slaughter, Vince Neil, Quiet Riot, Warrant and Rikets Fist of Five has broken out of their underground shell with the release of their 2006 EP, Broken Roses. This album was, engineered by JT Longoria (Guns and Roses, Burden Brothers, ICP) at Nomad Recording Studios in Dallas, TX, It has sold over 3,000 copies throughout the southern region oftheU.S.. Every track on the album has a story. From the pounding guitar riffs in Damage, to the operatic vocals in Phantom, and ending with the piano tribute When I Die Tomorrow dedicated to the fans and influences of the band, the album. "If Broken Roses' says anything, it's that there is more to come. This EP screams, "Just wait motherfuckers. Just you fucking wait and see what we're going to do.” - Joshua Michael Torres/Hails & Horns Magazine Rock shows are tipicly just loud music, mosh pits, and large crowds. Yet with an operatic feel, Fist of Five has taken these assumptions to another level adding aspects of the unusual. Intertwining classical theatre into their shows, you can only imagine the roar that comes forth as they go on stage. From intros featuring piano arrangements and symphonies to between song segments of smashing guitars and roses being launched like confetti, this Rock Opera has something for everyone to remember. FIST OF FIVE ************************************************************ SEVERED BY SIN* SEVERED BY SIN BIO COMING SOON... ************************************************************ BRUTALIS* The members of BRUTALIS create a unique sound that is brutal as well as musically tasteful. With monstrous riffs, punchy basslines, roaring vocals and crushing drums - BRUTALIS bridge the gap between pure metal and death metal. The band is currently arranging a mass of material for their debut album. Early demo versions of songs can be found on this site. Because the songs have progressed, the live show is currently a better representation of their music. Come out and headbang. METALHEADS UNITE. BRUTALIS ************************************************************ BAGEYES* In early 1997, four musicians from Claremore, a small north-eastern town in Oklahoma , came together to create a musical powerhouse. With their strong views on various subjects, these four men drew from each other's energy and passion to form a creative machine in which socio-chemical commentary would become the basis that would prove to be a musical force to be reckoned with. Thus Bageyes was born. Claremore's close proximity to Tulsa brought the advantage of being able to make a quick ascension into the local music scene. With Richard Sanders as the front man, Bageyes set themselves apart with a distinct flow and rhythm that made them stand out from many of the other acts that plague the music industry. Guitarist Shawn Sanders, bassist Brad Walker, and drummer John McDaniel help to bring that passion and energy that is distinctly Bageyes to the forefront in an all out sonic assault. Following a show at the Eclipse (a small venue in Tulsa ), Bageyes was approached by a team for Creative Thinking LTD, working in conjunction with Rolling Stone magazine. This encounter was the initial contact that proved fateful. The result of that chance meeting led to an appearance in Rolling Stones 30th anniversary issue and a featured slot in the accompanied ABC television special; Where its at: State of Union, was a visual snapshot of the American music scene where select up and comers were interspersed with the modern legends and historical figures of rock and roll. It was this exposure that really put Bageyes on the map. "We started with nothing back in 1997 and Im really proud of what we have been able to accomplish." says ringleader Richard sanders, Many bands haven't even done what we have thus far, and we've only scratched the surface of what we are capable of. We have only begun, and we are ready to take Bageyes to the next level. And so they did. Rising to cult status, the "fearsome foursome" backed by an almost unhealthy level of attention, formed a relation with one of the largest and most popular radio stations in Tulsa , Edge Radio 104.5, again the gods smiled upon the Bageyes . The Edge, flexing its corporate muscles, created one of the most successful music endeavors to hit Tulsa since Reggae-Fest, the ever so popular Edge-Fest. Edge fest kicked off August 19, 2000 with more than 20,000 in attendance, Bageyes were the featured local attraction with their hard hitting blend of hard core rap and heavy noise followed thereafter by Kottonmouth kings, The Urge, Kittie, and P.O.D. Bageyes must have made quite the impression because once again the four of them took the stage for the Edge at their annual birthday bash in May 2001 catering to 15,000 fans, strong. Yet again in 2003 there was another Edge Fest with Bageyes rockin the stage. In addition to their own headlining shows Bageyes has opened for countless well favored bands; such as The Urge, Suicidal Tendencies, Twiztid and Afroman. In addition to being one of Tulsa's mainstays of heaviness, Bageyes continues to venture out to the surrounding states, gaining more and more exposure and notoriety along the way. Bageyes ' plans for the future are to make their music, expand their reach on the tour circuit and continue to play! BAGEYES ************************************************************ FROM THE UPRIGHT* From the Upright can be described as a full set of just brutality, faith, and strength. A band that shows that there's a strength within our battles in their lyrics. Musically influenced by random acts from MxPx to Impending Doom. Five guys that love to play and love the kids. VICTIMS OF LIFE *********************************************************** *KADATH* In the Summer of 1992, two classmate/co-workers (Bassist, Shawn Ellis and Vocalist/Guitarist, Patrick Maupin) decide to form a metal group. The tentative name of the group is "Culprits." In early 1993, "Culprits" is discarded. The new name of the group, "Kadath" is borrowed from a novel by H. P. Lovecraft. Guitarist, Eric Kreuzberg and Drummer, Erik Mortenson are added to the lineup. In the Summer of 1994, Mortenson is replaced by Joe Cummings. 4-track demos are made of the group's three original songs: "Realm of the Lost", "Evil Unbound", and "Lifeblood". Rick Mushinski replaces Kruezberg on guitar in 1995. Kadath has it's first solid lineup. However, after the birth of his daughters, Rick steps down in late 1995. He's replaced by Marco Guerrero in 1996. The group records a 6-song, studio quality demo which contains new versions of the original three songs, as well as three new songs: "Abuser", "Braintrust", and "The Hell Beyond." "The Hell Beyond" Demo, although never properly mastered, is used to get Kadath gigs, as well as to sell at their shows. The group plays a string of shows between 1996 and '97, the biggest being a gig opening for Cannibal Corpse. Guerrero is replaced by guitarist, Alex Childers in 1997. Rick Mushinski rejoins the band in 1998, taking the place of Childers. "The Silver Key" demo is recorded in late 1998. It contains four new songs: "Mine Fields", "Insanity's Door", "Into the Unknown", and "The Silver Key." In 1999, Joe Cummings leaves the group. Unable to find a suitable drummer, Kadath becomes a 3-piece, with Mushinski on drums. However, by this time, the three have begun to invest time into projects outside the band. Over the next three years, rehersals become more like jam sessions. The group becomes more of a hobby for it's remaining members. In the Summer of 2002, ten years after it's initial conception, Kadath officially disbands. Patrick Maupin played guitar for Espianage in 2000 and 2001, and very briefly played drums for Black Gate in 2000. Rick Mushinski also played with Espianage in 2001, played bass for Lowlife.pos in 2003 and 2004, as well as guitar for Theory of Tangence in 2006. In 2007, Rick and Patrick briefly worked together on an instrumental thrash metal project called Perpetual Victim. KADATH *********************************************************** *OPHIDIAN* OPHIDIAN BIO COMING SOON... *********************************************************** *OUR MOTHERS MARTYR* Deep in the backwoods of Ada, OK, A curious sound can be heard. An odd creation by the name of Our Mother's Martyr slaves away, gnashing at a bloody bridle, twisting exotic tones into dizzying metal with an artistic grace. With Jamy Casteel on drums, David Winchester and Sam Russell on guitars, Michael Bradford on Bass, and Casey Howard doing vocals, OMM construct their sound. With the release of their "It Has Teeth" demo in late '06, and the upcoming release of the highly progressive "Into Erotic", OMM proves to be continually growing in musicianship and drive. OUR MOTHERS MARTYR *********************************************************** *DWELL WITHIN* Dwell Within is not a "new" band. Born from the ashes of Oversoul, Dwell Within started from Cornelius' desire to make music again after returning to Oklahoma from his bass duties with doom cult legends Place of Skulls. Dennis invited Chris Greenway, who had joined Oversoul after their one and only album was recorded in '99, to join him in continuing to make music in the same tradition. It naturally followed that the two asked Patric Barrett, who was Oversouls drummer, to rejoin the fold. The trio started to get some songs together trying to stay away from rehashing old ideas and playing Oversoul tunes and by the time January '06 rolled around there was still no name for the project and everyone was busy with one thing or another, Patric with his other band at the time Pinhole Sunn, and Dennis with his new job at Guitar Center. It was at Guitar Center that Dennis would run into Dylan Richardson, better known in OKC as Tattoo DJ. DJ was considering giving up playing music at all to devote more time and energy into his budding Tattoo business and was in GC to sell his gear. After a heartfelt talk and realizing that DJ loved the music that Oversoul created it felt quite natural for Dennis to invite DJ in on rhythm guitar. Now over 2 years later, releasing the Monkshood demo, and stronger as a band than ever Dwell Within sits on the precipice of a new plateau of creativity. The band is looking forward to 2008 and beyond! DWELL WITHIN *********************************************************** *AVIYN* A V I Y N formed in the summer of 2006 and instantly began a series of line up changes until the final two members joined. Mike Pue on guitar and Katina Clark with vocals. Throughout the 2007-2008 A V I Y N divulged their melodic-core style to the Oklahoma masses playing with bands like “August Burns Red,” “The Showdown,” “Project 86,” “Look What I Did,” “Catherine,” “A Plea For Purging,” “Dead And Devine,” “Dryline,” “She Killed Poetry,” “Rikets,” and many locals. This melodic metal female fronted band has a powerful stage performance with diverse riffs and heavy break downs galore. A V I Y N is a band that will continue to explore their musical abilities and have an impact on music lovers alike. AVIYN *********************************************************** *SERRIFORM* ser·ri·form [ sérr? fàwrm ] - adjective notched: having pointed projections resembling the teeth of a saw [Early 19th century. < Latin serra "saw"] Serriform is here to take over the job, nay the responsibility of slaying mortals. SERRIFORM *********************************************************** *RETURNED IN RUINS* With the Oklahoma Death Metal scene slowly fading to the MTV generations of Pop Punk and Rap, Returned in Ruins was formed to give the people a swift kick in the genitals and bring Death Metal back to where it needs to be. Returned in Ruins was started in mid 2006 by four kids in Moore looking to start something big....they called it Under The Grave....Months went by until in late 2006 when Brauk, Mike, and Logan kicked out their drummer, Eric. Now, they still needed a bassist and now a new drummer. That’s when Brauk and met up with Chandler Sowinski and Tyler (Lunchbox). Chandler and Lunchbox made it into the band by playing bass and drums respectively. Shortly after a couple of shows they changed the name to Returned in Ruins. Then, another line up change plagued the band. Lunchbox left the band and the guys decided to take a gamble, the decision was made to move Logan over to drums and Chandler to guitar. That risky gamble worked for a little less then a year until Logan was relieved of the drum position. 3 months prior to Logan's departure the guys added Dave Leberman as a second vocalist. But, with no drummer it seemed like the group had come to the end, with no drummer there would be no band. All of that luckily changed in late 2007 when Eric Collard was brought back in to take up the drums for Returned in Ruins once again. Now finally, the guys of RIR have a solid line up, and once again ready to give the people the good ol' Death Metal sound they were missing for all this time. RETURNED IN RUINS *********************************************************** MORE COMING SOON...
