Okay, so several gospel artists have taken the gospel music score by storm with a birage of new sounds targeted for the youth. Well someone else is about to break on to the scene with a new universal sound as well. Enter Shelia Moore, one whose music incorporates the musical elements of Hip Hop,R&B, jazz, classical, Latin and pop to coexist with the positive and spiritually uplifting lyrics.
Shelia began to develop her talent at the age of 8 by learning to play the piano. At the age of 10, she began to write and sing her own material. Her musical background also consists of a degree in Music at Southern University- Baton Rouge, LA as well as an Associates Degree in Music and Video Business at the Art Institute of Houston. She has also sang for various occasions and was part of the Re joyce Praise Team 1995-1997. These goals were not easily reached. They were the results of hard work and faith in God that she could achieve those goals among many things." I want people to know Jesus Christ of Nazareth perfects that which concerns us. Get connected to Him, our higher authority", she says.She stands firm on that statement for over a course of 9 years and hundreds of written and rehearsed material, she managed to compile 10 songs to form the 1st album entitled "Serious About You" released independently in 2002.She collaborated with producer Glenn"GP" Piper (husband!) to write and record the irresistible gospel ballad Single Lady. Although, it wasn't the last song written for the album, it was the very first song recorded for it. Other tracks from the album includes the title track Serious About You, We're Not Making Love Until ( co-written and produced with god brother/producer Kadrae) and a host of other goodies.In 2009 Shelia's sophmore album entitled "Tha story told twice according to shee shee" (chapter 1) will make its debut.
