$oul Purpo$e

Boise's longest running Disco Cover band!

About Me

$oul Purpo$e met in 1979 when seven of the members were fired from their jobs as extras on an Ingmar Bergman film for being too cheerful. They later met in the unemployment line and decided to put their talents together. In 1980 their smash hit " Boogie Juice" helped make them the darlings of the industry, (that is the music industry). Unfortunately, the disco wave had crested and $oul Purpo$e ended up on the Holiday Inn circuit in Thailand. After 12 months they got sick of the food and decided to go else where. Their manager at the time, Jack Arss, helped them find a new gig in the Armenian National Guard. Jack was immediately fired. They worked hard as officers of entertainment for the "Armenian Coalition for the Militia of the State". After a three month stint, they went AWOL; leaving the Armenian National Guard under the guise that they had to step off base to get their dry cleaning done.Knowing it was "Disco or Die" for them, they came up with a plan to come to America, and in a witness protection type program, they ended up in Boise, Idaho. In May of 1995, they played their first show in Boise at the Neurolux and became a smash hit. The rest is history. $oul Purpo$e has been playing to packed houses all over the Treasure Valley, except that one Christmas party they did for a local Television station.$oul Purpo$e has opened for:The Commodores (Boise River Festival '98) K. C. & the Sunshineband (Bank of America Centre '98) Otis Day & the Knights (Bank of America Centre '99) America (Boise State Pavilion 2001) Winner of Boise Weekly's Best of Boise 2002:Best Cover Band - " Play that funky music, white boys and girls. Afro wigs, platform shoes, and custom leather bring the whole experience together. You'll be transported in time and kick yourself for not wearing your polyester to the show."
