The Fable
Chaotix formed in May 2008, after French Luke and Mikey got bored of writing riffs to a drum machine and summoned Jessie from Art Hell to expand on their ideas with some trippy beats on a purple drumkit. Something special happened that day - in just a couple of hours they'd written 'Matches', a sort of indie dance scherzo in B minor. But something was missing...the sound was bare and desperately needed some synthy magic. Stu, an old friend of Mikey's, was rescued from the doldrums of the internet to bring a new expansive direction to the sound on a 25 year old Yamaha keyboard. One month and six new songs later, they were ready to gig.
Chaotix was born!
In the first three weeks a 2 track CD was recorded in a studio, followed shortly after by a 4 track Untitled E.P. which subsequently sold 100+ copies at a handful of gigs including shows with One Night Only, General Fiasco and Cut Off Your Hands to sell out crowds.
On the success of this, their 9 track album 'W.A.K.E.' was recorded in late 2008 featuring some of their most innovative songwriting yet. The good times kept coming from there; supporting both Grammatics and Dananananakroyd in Preston in the early months of 2009, Chaotix began to build a loyal and committed fanbase and gained notorioty as one of the most exciting unsigned bands in the UK. The later months of 2009 has seen a return to writing, with five brand new tracks to be recorded this November. It's clear the band have no intention of taking a back step anytime soon.
