Idolize The MC

About Me

Smoothavich otherwise known as Idolize Tha M.C. began his love of hip hop at the adolescent age of 10. First hearing the pioneers of what we now know as rapping, he embarked on his first experiences with hip hop and became immersed in the beauty of the four elements. Idolize was already into graffiti and expressing himself through art and at the same time his poetic abilities began to mature.
Tha M.C. himself also matured and was freestyling in transit to class, and battles also began forming at parties around the way. Fanatic then turned to amateur in about 1999 after moving to attend The Art Institute of Phoenix. While going to school he met a friend of a friend from high school who had just moved to Phoenix and was a part of a group called Origins Unknown from Ft Collins, Colorado. They began writing collab tracks with Incandescent aka Tweety Mac (peace dun if ya ever lay eyes on this site). Idolize soon became part of Origins Unknown after the emcees of the group migrated to Phoenix in route to L.A. with aspirations of making moves in Hollywood. A Colorado connect had landed an internship in Studio City and a few tracks were laced but situations became treacherous and differences got creative so everyone went their separate ways. Idolize eventually ended up in Colorado were he met DJ Casper who was the turntablist for the group. Then in Denver he and Casper began working on music and a project called The UnderAchievers.
A year went by and Idolize became tired of the scene in Denver and he went to Tucson to post up with his brother for a while. There he met a coworker Timoteio and Emiliano, who was an emcee from the valley in a group called Morse Code. They and wanted to start a crew and The Wildlife Refuge was born (big ups) recording only one song ”welcome to the refuge” with a dreddy Ruski. Idolize made the move back to Phoenix to focus on music since DJ Casper was also heading there to attend The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.
It was during this time that Smoothavich was spawned and Emiliano introduced him to a cat named Jeltz who was also in the same boat. Idolize Jeltz and Emiliano started to work on tracks together and decided to start the crew DeLaEscuela. Meanwhile Smoothavich’s first album “Smootha Who” was completed and he gained support from The Blow Up Coop. Idolize began rockin shows and gradually became part of the Phoenix underground scene. Emiliano moved to Chicago and DeLaEscuela turned into Jeltz and Idolize, recording “Tomorrows Last Try”. An emcee named Rashenal began vibing with J&I and recording with the Broken Artist collaborations began and thus the Wildlife Refuge was resurrected.(peep tha new shit)…
