The Lakeland Rangers
The Lakeland Rangers are the musical collaboration of Sam Hyman and Skip Niebauer. Sam is a well known singer/songwriter/band leader from Northwestern Pennsylvania. Skip is the owner/operator of American Artist Studio and has written and played in many bands and musical projects. Both Sam and Skip played in the legendary Arkay IV and/or Arkay IV Revival. As the Lakeland Rangers, Sam and Skip both wrote and produced songs and background music for several audiobooks including Tales of the Inland Seas, Truckin' Tales, and The Band Book.
The Lakeland Rangers have one CD titled Home on the Lake. It is a mixed bag of varying feels and genres. Many of the tunes could be called folk-rock, with some rockers (Words, I'm On Fire, and The Question), a country line dance tune (Workin' Too Hard), and one really kick-ass ballad (Baby, She's Got It). These songs are on the edge - lean, mean, and focused on what they are about. You will not mistake them for other songs or another band. There's a "back story" behind each of the songs. If Lakeland Rangers play them like they mean it, They do!
