T wo years ago the Emporia, KS' city council had a meeting discussing our local dog ordinates. There have been previous events due to irresponsible dog ownership that brought up the questioning of breed-specific legislation (BSL) added to our dog ordinate. The city decided that a blanket legislation is the wrong way to go.
N ow it is May 21, 2008, and an article was published in the Emporia Gazette explaining two pitbull attacks due to irresponsible ownership and one dog at large(which is a dog that hasn't recieved rabies vaccination and hasn't been registered with the city). This has raised new concerns, and has the city rethinking our local ordinates once again. So we've made this site to inform local citizens about the upcoming likely possibility of BSL passing in Emporia,KS.

Pit bulls were once a sign of dignity and strength to the United States and for the people therein. The never-quit attitude that they held was a statement towards the United States. They were once posted in advertisements, on magazines, and in movies.
Today, people fear the breed. They fear the myths surrounding the breed. They fear the bad reputation surrounding the breed.
They were once, highly dignified and loved.

What Is BSL??
Breed-specific legislation (BSL) comes in many forms, from extra insurance policies and special licenses, to outright bans of particular breeds. It usually comes about after a critical or fatal dog attack. It generally targets a small set of dog breeds. It attempts to curb dog bites and dog attacks by implementing policies focused specifically on those breeds. And it is always a complete failure - technically and morally.

Lets understand them instead, So we can provide Responsible Ownership
and give them a chance to Show the World WHY they are so Deserving of our Love.
LAWS are for HUMANS, not animals who have no say about the captive enviorment they must Endure!
We call them dumb animals, and so they are, for they connot tell us how they feel, but they do not suffer less because they have no words.
It is easy to take liberty for granted when you never had it taken from you.
We are all born innocent. Bad people make bad dogs happen, We are still innocent!
We must unite and put an end to this inJustice once and for all. There have been enough innocent lives lost!
