Serge Que and Alex Monakhov – two DJ / Producers from different corners of the world. Serge grew up in New York and was the resident of the legendary Limelight and Tunnel, Alex is from Moscow and released a rather impressive amount of records on such giants as Armin Van Buurens Armada and Deep Blue. After their meeting through mutual friends Serge and Alex realized that their music styles were extremely similar, and that both of them were looking for a studio partner that would push them to the next level, and Monaque was born. 6 releases later they are one of the most interesting production teams on the scene. With releases on Australian Vapour Recordings, an EP on Evapour8 and two remixes for the American giant Ultra records their style varies with each project. For System Recordings its minimal techno with a bassy groove, for Ultra it’s a tech-prog monster that starts out as house before the break and then storms back with speaker destroying intensity, everything is done from scratch and every time its it’s totally different. With the guys now in the studio working on their first artist album for Vapour and with a residency at the most prestigious underground club in Russia, ARMA17 which is home to Cocoon, Renaissance, and Matinee their success in the dance music industry is certain.
