MySpace HELP Profile Help!Launched in 2005 and inking its worldwide distribution deal with Federal Distribution/Universal Music Group in late 2007, Dauman Music’s first release, Stephani Krise’s “Tell it to the Moon,” written by Diane Warren and re-mixed by Ralphi Rosario, became one of the Top-10 most played songs of the year on XM Satellite Radio’s BPM Charts.Founded and helmed by CEO Jason Dauman, Dauman Music has since become a constant presence on the Billboard Club charts with close to 30 chart singles in 4 years. With seven chart singles in 2008, the company topped such labels as Warner (six), Jive (six) and Columbia (six) on the hot dance/club play imprint category. In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Dauman was able to place 3 different artists in the Billboard Top 50 Club Charts on the same week, representing a whopping 6 % of the Dance Chart. Some of the highlights include: Henri’s Top 10 single “Some Girls”; Tiffany’s return to the charts with “Higher” and “Just Another Day”; Erin Stevenson’s “Sweat”; Chicago based rockers The Knockhoppers’ re-make of Paul McCartney’s “Goodnight Tonight”; TV/film actress Carmen Perez’s first single “Emergency”; Jenn Frederick’s “I Should Have Been Blond,” remixed by Dave Aude (U2, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls); and new recordings by Tony Award nominated artist Daphne Ruben-Vega; soul singer T. Coles; singer/songwriter Ryan Sallis, who recorded a new song by Dr. Luke; and Alyson Stoner (who starred in Camp Rock with The Jonas Brothers).Expanding beyond its dance music base, Dauman Music released the recent soundtrack to Alice Upside Down featuring Stoner and Lukas Grabeel of High School Musical and Milk.Dauman has also releasing records re-mixed for the dance market by such contemporary legends as Dave Aude, DJ Escape, Johnny Vicious, Nortty Cotto, DJ Riddler, Ralphi Rosario, Twisted Dee, Eddie Baez, JJ Sanchez, Josh Harris, Scotty K, Klubjumpers, Ellis Miah, Mike Cruz, Frisca and Lamboy), Dave Matthias, Rod Carrillo, Jeff Barringer, Lex and Mark Picchiotti. An entrepreneurial talent scout whose abilities have led to dozens of radio hits over the years, Jason Dauman’s roots are in song placing, a field where he specialized in the representation of a numerous entertainment personalities, matching artists and songwriters. These artists have included U2, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager, Albert Hammond, Matthew Gerrard (“High School Musical”), Grammy and Oscar nominee Allan Rich, John Wesley Harding, the late Skip Scarborough (producer of Earth, Wind & Fire, Bill Withers and others), Maria McKee and Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde & the Scarlet Pimpernel), among many others.Dauman’s first “cover” was George Benson’s “Living On Borrowed Love,” which he followed with #1 pop hit for James Ingram “I Don’t Have the Heart.” Dauman later had a hand in the #1 hits “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” (Starship), “Don’t Turn Around” (Ace of Base) and others. One of Dauman’s most fruitful collaborations was with Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, whose co-write with Chrissie Hynde “I’ll Stand By You” was not only one of The Pretenders’ biggest hits, but also became a #1 hit for the current top selling UK group Girls Aloud and a Top 10 single for Carrie Underwood. The song has also been covered by Rod Stewart, Patti Labelle and Shirley Bassey. Dauman also placed one of Steinberg’s songs, “Falling Into You,” with Celine Dion; it became the title track of the Grammy-winning Album of the Year, which sold close to 30 million units worldwide. Dauman’s other placements include Barry Manilow’s recording of Garth Brooks’ “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” Bette Midler’s hit single of Maria McKee’s “To Deserve You,” and dozens of charted recordings by artists like Natalie Cole, Taylor Dayne, Tina Turner and Neil Diamond.“The solution to any artist advancement is the right song,” says Dauman. “I look to help bring out that special excitement that comes from a well written and well performed song. Many people think it’s a simple process but that’s not often the case. I’m always searching for uniqueness, originality and a special identity. To me, the most important skill is casting the perfect song with the perfect artist. I like the fact that Dauman Music has been able to develop and open doors for many new artists. The first recording is always a vital expression of the artist’s music and personality. I enjoy sharing that point in time.”
