About Me


Tara is a classically trained cellist with an eclectic array of musical tastes. She is based in Cleveland Ohio, where she performs regularly in several different genres and avenues.
In February 2008, Tara was voted a Top 3 Finalist in the 2008 My Grammy Moment Contest! As a result, she performed live with the Foo Fighters at the 2008 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 10th. Along with performing "The Pretender" with the Foo's as part of the My Grammy Moment Orchestra, Tara was introduced on national television and performed a short improvised solo, in front of a live audience and an estimated 17.5 million viewers at home.

In addition to performing with the Foo Fighters, Tara has performed on tours and shows with Kanye West, Josh Groban, Barry Manilow, the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Patrizio Buanne and Smokey Robinson. She has also shared the stage with Yo-Yo Ma, Leonard Slatkin, Benjamin Zander, Diana Krall, Christian McBride, Sarah Chang, Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D'Rivera, James Newton Howard, Randy Newman, and John Corigliano.
In the Indie music scene, Tara is the cellist for Unsparing Sea. Last June, Unsparing Sea performed in the 2008 North by Northeast Festival in Toronto! Their newest EP "In The Crystal Canyon" is currently available, and will soon be followed by their 2nd full length album, "Diamond Caverns."
Other projects and recordings have been with Hapsburg Lip, The Vernatones, Scott Routenberg and Shantih.
Classically, Tara is a member of the Akron Symphony Orchestra. She performs at weddings and various functions with the Mayfield String Quartet and Arion String Ensembles. Tara also teaches privately around the Cleveland area.
Tara received her classical training from the University of Michigan, University of Miami, and the Cleveland Institute of Muisc. She is an alumnist of Interlochen, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and the Henry Mancini Institute.
