Hi, how ya'll doin'??
I'm on here to share my music with everyone. I started writing and recording songs at a very young age. I have been playing guitar and piano and writing songs since I was about 8 years old or so. I always wanted to be 'The Man On The Radio', but, I can't stand listening to the radio anymore. Same ole, same ole...commercials, commercials, commercials, corporate conglomerations. So, this is a great way for me to get my songs out there and hope that they touch someone, somehow.
All through school, I did the choir thing, the musicals and played in different bands. Then, after years of formal vocal training, I got a full ride vocal scholarship to Ohio State University. After a year with pretty decent grades, I decided I didn't want to teach, I wanted to jam!! So, I did all the club scenes, weddings, barmitzfa's, The Reynoldsburg Tomato Fest, Dave Thomas' (yeah, THE Wendy's Guy) promo for Lukenbach, TX chili, etc, etc, etc (I could gone on and on). It hit me when the band I was in, StarRider, got a gig at a club called 'The Charlie Horse Palace' (2nd in size only to Gilly's at the time in the US). 'Rock Star I Am', I thought. But, after paying our agent, hotel, gear rental, roadie beers, gas, food and band beers, I made about $50 on a two day gig. Rock Star no more ... I had to get a REAL job. You know, pay the bills. Still, I NEVER lost the passion!!
Through the years, I've built a studio. It may not be what "THEY" have, but it works for me...for now. Because my music comes from the heart and not the gear. When you hear what I write and perform, you'll see it covers many genres. I'm striving to put a twist on the 'standards', striving for a different sound.
All of the songs on here were written, engineered and performed (all intruments and vocals) by me in my home studio. Except for the one song spot I will keep open for covers of some of my favorite songs.
Hope you enjoy! Comments (good or bad) are welcome and encouraged!
Stay tuned...News at 6.
PEACE OUT,
MTE
