Community Cats

About Me

..
That time of year is here! We will only be accepting feral cats from Washoe County. Please bring your drivers license to the door when dropping off.
Also . . . The limit of two will be strictly enforced, as well as, cats are to arrive in covered traps and a clean, small plastic carrier (airline type), with a clean towel inside for surgical recovery.
There will be no exceptions.
Community Cats was founded in 2003 by a small group of feral cat advocates. Among them was veterinarian Diana Lucree, who at that time, had worked with feral cats for five years and had spayed/neutered more than 4,000 feral cats locally and has continued her efforts through this program.
We have entered into a cooperative agreement with Washoe County Regional Animal Services to offer TNRM services to northern Nevadans who wish to control the population of their feral cat colonies.
However, we receive no public financial aid. Community Cats is supported solely through grants and donations, which allows them to continue providing this important program, thus allowing population control and basic medical services for the cats with no cost to the caretakers.
Please call with any questions, to make a donation or to help out by volunteering.

The 24 cats below are from the Reno/Sparks area. Multiply these 24 by 1,000. This will give you an idea of how many feral/stray cats are roaming in our area.
