About Me

If you are the sort of person who is willing to walk an extra block or so because you don’t want to put fast food in your body, or if you are willing to check the date on your produce, or take some time to read about things you buy before buying them on the internet, then being careful to avoid listening to mashed down, low quality mp3s should appeal to you. All that is required is a little extra effort, and you can download spirit form at the same sample rate used by Amazon and iTunes for the Mp3s they sell.

Go to http://osonics.com and listen to these tracks as they are meant to be heard. The reason for making the request is My Space has a 10mb limit on mp3 uploads. This means nothing longer than about five minutes can be posted at a decent sample rate. This works well enough for short tunes. People who are thinking about making “singles” are well served. But “singles” are by definition a commercial format. I think trying to make music in a commercial format is kind of silly, because … well I mean if I can’t even persuade you to click http://osonics.com , I doubt I can persuade you to pay for anything.

If it’s a choice between trying to waste your time with a misguided plea to have you pay for music or get you to hear music so that it sounds its best, my vote is to get you to hear this music so it sounds its best.

I’m especially motivated to make this push since spirit form, the collection I just completed containins music that’s just a hair too long to sound good when mashed down to 10mb or less.

spirit form (sic) starts with a slowly developing 15 minute piece and ends with another 15 minute section. Sandwiched in between are pieces or “songs” some of which last around 7 minutes. I’ve posted some of them here, because I really do know it can be a bit of an effort to navigate away from a MySpace page, but it’s worth it to hear them as they are meant to be heard.

Just go to http://osonics.com then click on the "MUSIC" button to the left, and navigate to download the 7 pieces of music that make up the spirit form from “album” there.

Thanks for your time and for stopping by.

A few notes about the songs from spirit form posted here. The bass and solo acoustic guitar on "Young love" are played by Pier Giacalone aka "Curious records" from the friends list below. The main drums on this tune are played by Paul Griffith, or "Paolo" down below. Everything else was played by and written by Osonics.
