Jordan Looney is a concentrated mix of the intelligence of a nerd, the passion of a entrepreneur, and the swagger of rapper. He is also the innovator of the NERD HOP state of mind. The self proclaimed NERD was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. coming up in a single parent household, Jordan aka J.LoOnZ quickly developed his rap skills along side his independence. With a heavy focus on lyrical content Jordan's rhymes become more like poetry as he glides effortlessly over any style of beat. His hip hop roots dig deep. He was heavily influenced by the east coast emcee's of the 90's including but not limited to Jay-Z, Nas, Mos Def, Talib, etc. He was also heavily affected by the underground movement in the Twin Cities area spurred by Minnesota Hip Hop elite such as Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Eydea, DJ Abilities and Heiruspects. As he grew older he delved deeper in to all facets of hip hop exploring mainstream radio artists, the southern underground, west coast gangster rap, hyphy, and finally the diverse chicago "scene." Now attending Northwestern University Jordan strives to affect change with his music by promoting positivity, creativity, freedom from definitions, stepping outside of the box, and having fun.
